Claims (11)

  1. 본질적으로 산화구리과 산화세륨의 친밀한 혼합물로 구성되어 있고 산화구리의 중량은 산화세륨의 중량보다 적은 것을 특징으로 하는 촉매.
  2. 제 1 항에 있어서, 그 표면적이 적어도 4m2g-1인 것을 특징으로 하는 촉매.
  3. 제 1 항 또는 2항에 있어서, 산화세륨에 대한 산화구리(구리로소 측정됨)의 비율이 0.1 내지 10중량%인 것을 특징으로 하는 촉매.
  4. 제 1 항 내지 3항중의 어느하나에 있어서, 산화세륨(세륨으로 측정된)의 10중량% 이하의 비율로 회토류 금속산화물(금속으로 측정된)을 함유하는 것을 특징으로 하는 촉매.
  5. 하소하면 산화구리를 생성하는 구리화합물로 함침된 산화세륨을 하소하는 과정으로 되어 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 제 1 항 내지 4항중의 어느한항에 기재되어 있는 촉매를 제조하는 방법.
  6. 제 5 항에 있어서, 산화세륨을 가열에 의해 산화구리를 생성하도록 분해될수 있는 구리염의 수용액으로 함침시키고 함침된 산화세륨을 산화구리를 생성하도록 하소하는 것을 특징으로 한는 방법.
  7. 제 5 항에 있어서, 구리염의 수용액으로 산화세륨을 함침하고 염이 수산화구리 또는 탄산구리로 전환되도록 함침된 산화 세륨을 처리하고 수산화구리 또는 탄산구리가 분해하여 산화 구리를 생성하도록, 처리된 산화세륨을 하소하는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
  8. 구리염과 세륨염의 수용액으로부터, 가열에 의해 분해하여 각각 산화구리와 산화세륨을 생성하는 구리 화합물 및 세륨 화합물을 침전시키고, 그 침전을 산화구리와 산화세륨을 생성하도록 하소하는 과정으로 되어있는 것을 특징으로 하는 제 1 항 내지 4항중의 어느하나에 기재된 촉매를 제조하는 방법.
  9. 산화구리와 산호세륨을 친밀하게 혼합하는 것을 특징으로 하는 제 1 항 내지 4항중의 어느하나에 기재된 촉매를 제조하는 방법.
  10. 촉매로서 제 1 항 내지 4항중의 어느하나에 기재된 촉매를 사용하는 것을 특징으로 하는 화학반응을 촉매하는 방법.
  11. 그 배기장치에는 엔진의 배기방출물중에 있는 산화질소, 일산화탄소 및 탄화수소를 질소, 이산화탄소 및 물로 전환시키는 촉매가 수용되어 있는 내연기관에 있어서, 촉매가 제 1 항 내지 4항중의 어느하나에 기재되어 있는 대로인 것을 특징으로 하는 내연기관.
