Abstract

PURPOSE: The continuous catalytic decomposition of heavy oil is conducted by contacting the heavy oil with a gasification catalyst, such as calcium aluminate, and subsequently with a catalyst of chromium oxide to produce a gas with high contents of hydrogen and carbon monoxide and low content of methane.
