Claims (30)

  1. a)모금속을 선택되는 단계와; b)용융 모금속체를 형성하기 위해 상기 모금속을 그 용융점 이상의 온도까지 대체로 불활성 분위기에서 가열하여 상기 용융 모금속을 보론 카바이드를 포함하는 덩어리와 접촉하는 단계와; c)상기 용융 모금속을 상기 덩어리로 침투시켜 한개 이상의 보론 함류 화합물을 형성하도록 상기 용융 모금속과 상기 보론 카바이드를 반응시켜기에 충분한 시간동안 상기 온도를 유지하는 단계 및 d)상기 침투 및 반응과정을 한개 이상의 모금속 보론 함유 화합물을 포함하는 자체지지체를 제조하기에 충분한 시간동안 계속하는 단계를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 자체지지체 제조방법.
  2. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 보론 카바이드와 불활성 충전재를 혼합함으로써 상기 덩어리를 형성하고 상기 충전재를 묻도록 상기 침투 및 반응이 상기 성형 덩어리까지 계속하게 하고 그리고 상기 자체지지체로서 복합물을 제조하는 단계를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 자체지지체 제조방법.
  3. 제1항 또는 제2항에 있어서, 상기 자체지지체는 금속상인 것을 특징으로 하는 자체지지체 제조방법.
  4. 제1항 또는 제2항에 있어서, 상기 자체지지체는 모금속 브라이드 화합물과 상기 보론 카바이드와 상기 모금속을 반응시킴으로써 형성된 모금속 탄소화합물을 포함하는 것을 특지으로 하는 자체지지체 제조방법.
  5. 제1항 또는 제2항에 있어서, 상기 보론 카바이드는 상기 덩어리로 침투된 모금속에 대해 적어도 화학량만큼 있으며 상기 반응은 상기 모금속의 대부분을 소모하기에 충분한 시간동안 계속되는 것을 특지으로하는 자체지지체 제조방법.
  6. 제1항 또는 제2항에 있어서, 상기 모금속은 알루미늄, 티타늄, 지르코늄, 실리콘, 하프늄, 란타늄, 철, 칼슘, 바나듐, 니오븀, 및 베릴륨으로 구성된 그룹에서 선택되는 것을 특징으로 하는 자체지지체 제조방법.
  7. 제4항에 있어서, 상기 모금속을 알루미늄, 티타늄, 지르코늄 및 하프늄으로 구성된 그룹에서 선택되는 것을 특징으로 하는 자체지지체 제조방법.
  8. 제1항 또는 제2항에 있어서, 상기 모금속은 알루미늄이며, 상기 자체지지체는 알루미늄 보라이드, 알루미늄 보로 카바이드 및 이들의 혼합물로 구성된 그룹에서 선택되는 것을 특징으로 하는 자체지지체 제조방법.
  9. 제1항 또는 제2항에 있어서, 상기 모금속은 지로코늄이며, 상기 자체지지체는 지르코늄 보라이드, 또는 지르코늄 보라이드와 지르코늄 카바이드로 구성된 그룹에서 선택되는 지르코늄 화합물인 것을 특징으로 하는 자체지지체 제조방법.
  10. 제9항에 있어서, 상기 자에지지체는 또한 지르코늄을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 자체지지체 제조방법.
  11. 제1항 또는 제2항에 있어서, 상기 덩어리는 소정의 형상을 갖는 자체지지체를 제조하는 것을 특징으로 하는 자체지지체 제조방법.
  12. 제2항에 있어서, 상기 충전재는 섬유, 위스커, 미립자, 분말, 봉, 와이어, 와이어천, 내화재천, 관철폼, 판 소형판, 고형구체 및 중공구체로 구성된 그룹에서 선택되는 것을 특징으로 하는 자체지지체 제조방법.
  13. 제11항에 있어서, 상기 충전재는 보호용 예비피복물을 갖는 것을 특징으로 하는 자체지지체 제조방법.
  14. 제2항 또는 제13항에 있어서, 상기 충전재는 보호용 예비피복물을 갖는 알루미나 또는 탄소로 구성된 그룹에서 선택되는 것을 특징으로 하는 자체지지체 제조방법.
  15. 제1항 또는 제2항에 있어서, 상기 모금속을 티타늄이며, 상기 자체지지체 티타늄 보라이드 또는 티타늄 보라이드 혼합물 티타늄 카바이드로 구성된 그룹에서 선택되는 티타늄 화합물을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 자체지지체 제조방법.
  16. 제1항 또는 제2항에 있어서, 상기 모금속은 하프늄이며, 상기 자체지지체는 하프늄 보라이드 또는 하프늄 보라이드 혼합물과 하프늄 카바이드로 구성된 그룹에서 선택되는 하프늄 화합물인 것을 특징으로 하는 자체짖체 제조방법.
  17. 제15항에 있어서, 상기 자체지지체는 또한 티타늄을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 자체지지체 제보압법.
  18. 제16항에 있어서, 상기 자체지지체는 또한 하프늄을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 자체지지체 제조방법.
  19. 제1항 또는 제2항에 있어서, 상기 모금속 보론 함유 화합물 중 적어도 하나는 소형 평판형 구조물인 것을 특징으로 하는 자체지지체 제조방법.
  20. 제9항에 있어서, 상기 지르코늄 보라이드 중 적어도 하나는 작은 평판형 구조물인 것을 특징으로 하는 자체지지체 제조방법.
  21. 제15항에 있어서, 상기 티타늄 보라이드중 하나는 작은 평판형 구조물인 것을 특징으로 하는 자체지지체 제조방법.
  22. 제16항에 있어서, 상기 하프늄 보라이드중 하나는 작은 평판형 구조물인 것을 특징으로 하는 자체지지체 제조방법.
  23. a)모금속을 선택하는 단계와; b)용융 금속체를 형성하기 위해 상기 모금속을 그 용융점 이상의 온도까지 대체로 불활성 분위기에서 가열하여 상기 용융 모금속을 보론 카바이드와 보론을 포함하는 덩어리와 접촉하는 단계와 ; c)상기 요융 모금속을 상기 덩어리로 침투시켜 보론 함유 화합물을 형성하도록 상기 요융 모금속과 상기 보론 카바이드 및 보론을 반응시키기에 충분한 시간동안 상기 온도를 유지하는 단계 및 d)상기 침투 및 반응과정을 모금속 및 모금속 보론 함유 화합물의 반응하지 않은 성분으로 구성된 금속상을 포함하는 자체지지체를 제조하기에 충분한 시간동안 계속하는 단계를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 자체 지지체 제조방법.
  24. 제21항에 있어서, 상기 덩어리와 불활성 충전재를 혼합하고, 상기 충전재를 묻도록 상기 성형된 덩어리까지 상기 침투 및 반응이 이루어지도록 하며 상기 충저??를 묻는 기질을 갖는 자체지지체로써의 복합물을 제조하는 단계를 포함하며, 상기 기질은 모금속 및 모금속 보론 함유 화합물의 반응되지 않은 성분으로 구성된 금속상을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 자체지지체 제조방법.
  25. 제23항 또는 제24항에 있어서, 상기 모금속은 알루미늄이며, 상기 보론 함유 화합물은 알루미늄 보라이드, 알루미늄 보로 카바이드 및 이들의 혼합물로 구성된 그룹에서 선택되는 것을 특지으로 하는 자체지지체 제조방법.
  26. 제1항 또는 제2항에 있어서, 보론은 상기 모금속과 반응하도록 상기 덩어리에 병합되는 것을 특징으로 하는 자체지지체 제조방법.
  27. 제26항에 있어서, 상기 탄소는 약 5내지 10중량%의 상기 덩어리에 포함하는것을 특징으로 하는 자체지지체 제조방법.
  28. 지르코늄, 티타늄 및 하프늄으로 구성된 그룹에서 선택되는 금속상과 복합물질의 경계로 연장하는 3차원적으로 상호 연결된 세라믹 상을 포함하며, 상기 세라믹상은 지르코늄 카바이드, 티타늄 카바이드, 하프늄 카바이드로 구성된 그룹에서 선택되는 카바이드를 포함하며 상기 카바이드에 상당하는 금속 보라이드를 추가로 포함하며 상기 보라이드는 작은 평판형 구조물인 것을 특징으로 하는 복합물.
  29. 제28항에 있어서, 상기 금속상은 지르코늄이며, 상기 카바이드는 지르코늄 카바이드이며, 상기 보라이드는 지르코늄 보라이드인 것을 특징으로 하는 복합물.
  30. 제29항에 있어서, 적어도 약 12MPam1/2의 파단인성을 갖는 것을 특징으로 하는 복합물.
