제2도는 니트로-침탄처리된 링의 방사상 외부면과 측면 사이의 모서리에서 니트로 침탄 처리된 막스톤링의 단면의 일부를 현미경으로 찍은 사진.

Claims (10)

  1. 피스톤 링이나 시일링 링으로써 사용하기 위한 단면이 일반적으로 직사각형인 금속링을 니트로-침탄처리시키는 방법에 있어서, 먼저 인접한 링이 서로 접하도록 링 스택을 형성한 후, 이 링 스택을 공기가 배출된 챔버내에 위치하게 한다음 450°- 650℃의 온도에서 탄화기체와 질소기체를 25:75-75:25(부피에 의한 %)의 비율로 혼합한 기체상 혼합물을 챔버내에 공급하여 링의 방사상 외부면과 양측면을 니트로-침탄처리시킴을 특징으로 한 니트로-침탄처리법.
  2. 제1항에 있어서, 질소기체가 암모니아이고 탄화기체가 발열성 탄화수소기체임을 특징으로 한 니트로-침탄 처리법.
  3. 제1항이나 제2항에 있어서, 기체상들을 50:50(부피비에 의한 %) 또는 60:40(부피비에 의한 %)의 비율로 혼합함을 특징으로한 니트로-침탄처리법.
  4. 제1-3항중 어느 한가지항에 잇어서, 링이 스택을 형성하기전에 링을 다듬질 가공하여 니트로 침탄처리한 직후 곧바로 사용할 수 있도록 함을 특징으로한 니트로침탄처리법.
  5. 제1-4항중 어느 한가지항에 있어서, 링들이 갭을 가지고 있어서 갭이 벌어진상태로 링 스택을 형성하여 피스톤 링을 형성시킴을 특징으로 한 니트로-침탄처리법.
  6. 제1-5항중 어느 한가지 항에 있어서, 링의 표면상에 니트로-침탄된 것의 총 깊이가 0.015㎜-0.3㎜가 되도록 니트로-침탄시킴을 특징으로한 니트로-침탄처리법.
  7. 제1-6항중 어느 한가지 방법에 의하여 제조된 것임을 특징으로한 엔진이나 압축기용 피스톤 링 또는 완충기용 시일링 링.
  8. 피스톤 링이나 시일링 링으로써 사용하기 위한 단면이 일반적으로 직사각형인 금속링에 있어서, 니트로-침탄처리법에 의하여 금속링의 방사상 외부면과 양측면이 경화되고 또한 이 금속링은 니트로-침탄처리시키기 전에 끝마무리 가공된 것임을 특징으로 한 금속링.
  9. 제8항에 있어서, 니트로 침탄처리된 깊이가 0.015㎜-0.3㎜ 정도임을 특징으로한 금속링.
  10. 제8항이나 제9항에 있어서, 링이 주철이나 강철로 만들어졌음을 특징으로한 금속링.
