Abstract

데이터 수신기(10)는 예컨대, 인터넷으로부터 오는 다수의 디지털 프로그램들을 수신하기 위한 것이다. 상기 수신기는 미리 설정된 판단기준에 따라 프로그램들을 수신하기 위한 복수의 프로그램 수신 장치들(40, 41, 42, 43, 44, ..)을 포함한다. 원력 제어 상자(32)는 프로그램들의 일부를 디스플레이한다. 리스트의 쉬프트는 다른 프로그램을 기초로 하여, 상기 수신 장치들중 하나를 소거하고 로딩한다.

본 발명은 다수의 프로그램들로부터 오는 데이터의 수신기에 관한 것이다.
본 발명은 또한, 다수의 프로그램들중 하나를 수신하는 방법에 관한 것이다.
본 발명은 특히 프로그램들이 상기 유형의 인터넷이나 네트워크에 의해 공급되는 텔레비젼 프로그램들 및/또는 라디오 프로그램들인 경우에 흥미있는 응용들을 발견하였다.
특허 공보 PCT WO 99/40506 에는 상기 다수의 프로그램들 속에서 진행되는 방법이 개시되어 있다. 하지만, 상기 방법은 다수의 프로그램들의 수신을 관리하는 그 어떤 것에도 해결책을 주지 못하며 오히려 복잡한 수신 처리를 필요로 한다.
본 발명은 프로그램들의 수신 문제를 해결하는 전제부에서 언급한 유형의 수신기를 제안하며, 상기 수신은 다수의 프로그램들을 항해하는 어떤한 즐거움이 제공되는 동안 복잡한 수신 기능들을 필요로 한다.
상기 수신기는 미리 설정된 판단기준에 따라 프로그램들을 수신하기 위한 복수의 다른 프로그램 수신 장치들을 더 포함한다는 것을 특징으로 한다.

본 발명의 상기 및 다른 양상들은 하기에 설명되는 실시예(들)를 참조로 하여 한정적이지 않은 실예에 의해 명백해질 것이다.
도 1은 인터넷(5)에 접속된 본 발명에 따른 수신기(1)를 도시한다. 상기 네트워크는 도 1에 도시된 것 중 두 개인 멀티미디어 데이터 서버들을 포함한다. 그들은 10 및 11 로 불리는 서버들이다. 수신기(1) 및 서버들(10, 11)은 노드들(20 내지 24)을 통해 상호 접속된다.
디지털 형태로 나타난 상기 데이터를 재생하기 위해, 처리 시간을 필요로 하는 여러 동작들이 실행된다. 프로그램들을 자주 변경하는 사용자에게 이러한 시간은 견딜 수 없게 된다.
예를 들면, 만약 데이터가 MPEG-4 표준에 의해 전송된 텔레비젼 방송들을 시청하는 경우, 전송된 데이터의 스트림에서 나타나는 임의 접근점(RAP; random-access point)들의 지연은 이미 제공되어 있다. 상기 접근점들은 참조 영상들에 대응하고, 이것은 여러 업데이트들이 영상 시퀀스들의 연속성을 이루도록 만들어진 상기 접근점들을 기초로 한다. 상기 접근점들은 크기 차수가 몇 초인 시간기간들에서 발생한다. 이것은 프로그램들을 변경할 때 적어도 몇 초를 기다려야 한다는 결점을 밖으로 부르며, 상기 결점은 사용자를 매우 성가시게 한다.
수신기들은 처리를 실행하는 파이프라인(pipeline) 기술을 사용한다. 이 기술은 사용자가 프로그램을 보기 전에 여러 신호 프레임들이 수신되는 것을 필요로 한다.
상기 처리들에 이용되는 버퍼 메모리들은 이 프로그램들의 출현을 더 지연시킨다.
아직까지 더 중요한 것은 인터넷 유형의 네트워크를 거친 프로그램 분배로 인한 지연이다 : 사용자는 그의 요구를 작성한다 ; 경로는 서버들에 의해 전송된 각 데이터 패킷에 대한 여러 노드들 사이에서 형성된다 ; 그 결과는 변동들을 상쇄시키는 지연을 부가함으로써 수신기가 제거되는 변동들이다.
도 2에 개략적으로 도시된 수신기(5)는 프로그램들이 변경될 경우 지연 예감을 주로 해결하게 한다. 상기 수신기는 디스플레이 스크린 및 기타 다른 멀티미디어 장치들, 특히 사운드를 통합시킨 재생 소자(30)를 포함한다. 또한, 스크린(33) 및 키패드(34)를 갖는 원격 제어 상자(32)에 의해 형성된 지시 소자(indication element)를 포함하고, 상기 키패드는 재생 소자(30)의 프로그램을 변경하게 한다. 상기 키패드(34)는 특히 다수의 프로그램들을 계속해서 변경시킬 수 있는 "+" 및 "-" 키들을 포함한다. 인터페이스 회로(35)는 인터넷(5)과의 링크를 보장한다.
본 발명에 따라서, 상기 수신기는 병렬로 동작하는 복수의 수신 장치들(40, 41, 42, 및 44)을 포함한다. 재생 소자는 상기 수신 장치들 중 하나의 출력에 접속된다. 이것은 스위치(49)에 의해 도시된다. 상기 모든 장치들은 인터넷의 모든 프로그램들을 수신할 수 있다. 이는 상기 장치들(40 내지 44)의 입력들에 각각 접속된 스위치들(50 내지 54)에 의해 도시된다.
도 3은 프로그램들의 타이틀들 또는 그 참조들이 원격 제어 상자(32)의 스크린(33)상에 어떻게 위치되는지를 도시한다. 번호들이 각각의 수신 장치들의 번호들에 대응하는 위치들(E1 내지 E5)에 프로그램들의 참조들을 위치시키는 것이 바람직하다. 상기 위치들은 스크린(33)상에 호(arc)만이 보이는 원주(circle)(60) 사이에 놓인다. 키보드(34)의 "+' 및 "-" 키들을 누르면, 재생되는 프로그램들의 참조들이 로테이션된다는 느낌이 든다. 예컨대, 어떤 사이트들에서 나오는 모든 프로그램들의 참조들은 어떤 판단기준에 따라 한정된다. 빗금친 형태로 표시된 중심 영역(62)은 선택된 프로그램을 결정한다. 어떤 방법에서는 회전식(carrousel)으로 형성된다.
도 4는 수백의 프로그램들의 리스트에서의 프로그램들의 참조들이 어떻게 디스플레이되는지와, "+" 및 "-" 키들이 눌러질 때 수반되는 수신 장치들이 무엇이 있는지를 도시한다.
이 도면에는 여러 컬럼(column)들이 도시되고, 컬럼 "0'은 원격 제어 상항에서의 초기 상태를 나타낸다. 위치들(E1 내지 E5)에서, 프로그램들의 참조들(P08 내지 P12)이 각각 디스플레이된다. 상기 프로그램들은 수신 장치들(40 내지 44)에 의해 각각 처리된다. 상기 장치들의 참조들은 이 도면에서 괄호들 안에 놓인다. "-" 키를 1회 누르면, 프로그램(P9)의 참조가 위치(E3)에서 발견된다. 프로그램(P12)이 더 이상 보이지 않아, 그에 할당된 수신 장치(44)가 이용 가능해져서, "-" 키를 1회 누르면, 상기 장치는 P07로 참조된 프로그램의 데이터를 처리하도록 준비된다. 상기 "-" 키를 2회 누르면, 디스플레이된 프로그램들의 참조들의 다른 로테이션이 있다. 이 회수로, 선택된 참조의 프로그램은 P08 이고, 수신 장치(43)는 P06인 참조의 프로그램을 처리하도록 자유롭게 된다. "+" 키를 누르면, "-" 키를 1회 눌렸을 때와 동일한 경우가 된다.
프로그램들의 디스플레이되는 리스트는 사용자의 선택 기능으로써 전개된다.
따라서, 수신 장치들 중 하나에 의해 아직 처리되지 않은 프로그램을 선택하도록 사용자가 키를 적어도 2회 누를 수 있다는 것을 알았다. 만약 사용자가 키를 각각 여러 번 눌려 프로그램을 시청한다면, 상기 회수는 회전식에서 돌아오는 새로운 프로그램의 재생을 형성하는데 충분할 수 있다.
동의되는 사고를 회전식으로 레이아웃하면, 도 5에 표시된 바와 같이 스크롤 레이아웃(scroll layout)을 취하는 것이 바람직할 수 있다. 여러 위치들(E1 내지 E5)은 스크린(33)의 다른 선상에 놓인다. "+" 및 "-" 키들로 수행함으로써, 프로그램들의 참조들은 수직으로 치환된다. 중심에 빗금친 선은 선택된 프로그램을 나타낸다.
또한, 빗금친 선택 영역을 변경할 수는 있지만, 상기 영역이 정지에 도달하면, 사용자는 정지를 넘는 상태의 프로그램들에 관한 정보를 더 이상 갖지 않는다.
따라서, 수신 장치들 중 하나를 소거하고 로딩함으로써 순차적인 방식으로 프로그램들에 접근할 수 있다.
사용자의 선호하는 프로그램들에 대응할 수 있는 여러 수신 장치들에 의해 프로그램들이 처리되고, 이것은 다른 판단기준을 설정할 수 있다.

Claims (7)

  1. 제 1 프로그램 수신 장치를 포함하는, 다수의 프로그램들로부터 오는 데이터의 수신기에 있어서,
    상기 수신기는 미리 설정된 판단기준에 따른 프로그램들을 수신하기 위한 복수의 다른 프로그램 수신 장치들을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 수신기.
  2. 제 1 항에 있어서,
    상기 미리 설정된 판단기준에 대응하는 상기 프로그램들의 리스트를 보여주는 프로그램 지시 소자(program indication element)를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 수신기.
  3. 제 1 항 또는 제 2 항에 있어서,
    상기 미리 설정된 판단기준은 수신 장치들의 수보다 큰 프로그램들의 어떤 수에 대응하고, 상기 수신기는 사용자 선택의 기능으로서 전개되는 상기 프로그램들의 일부분의 리스트를 보여주는 프로그램 지시 소자를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 수신기.
  4. 제 1 항 내지 제 3 항중 어느 한 항에 있어서,
    상기 프로그램들의 접근은 상기 수신 장치들중 어느 하나를 소거하고 로딩함으로써 순차적인 방식으로 일어나는 것을 특징으로 하는 수신기.
  5. 제 1 항 내지 제 4 항중 어느 한 항에 있어서,
    상기 프로그램들은 인터넷으로부터 오는 것을 특징으로 하는 수신기.
  6. 제 1 항 내지 제 4 항중 어느 한 항에 청구된 수신기에 사용되는 다수의 프로그램들로부터 오는 데이터를 수신하는 방법에 있어서,
    수신될 수 있는 프로그램들의 리스트를 작성하는 단계,
    상기 리스트의 복수의 프로그램들을 동시에 수신하는 단계, 및
    상기 복수로부터 프로그램들 중 하나를 선택하는 단계를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는, 상기 데이터를 수신하는 방법.
  7. 제 6 항에 있어서,
    상기 복수의 변경은 상기 리스트의 다른 프로그램을 수신하도록 적어도 하나의 수신을 소거하는 것을 특징으로 하는, 상기 데이터를 수신하는 방법.
