Claims (14)
- 반사형 액정 표시 장치에 있어서,한 쌍의 기판;상기 한 쌍의 기판들간에 배치된 한 쌍의 배향막;상기 한 쌍의 배향막간에 배치된 액정층;상기 기판들 및 상기 배향막들과 각각 대향 배치된 복수의 전극;상기 기판들 중 하나와 상기 배향막들 중 하나간에 한정된 공간 내에서 상기 복수의 전극과 상기 기판들간에 배치된 반사층; 및상기 복수의 전극과 상기 반사층간에 배치된 적어도 하나 이상의 절연성 박막을 포함하는 반사형 액정 표시 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 기판의 한 단부에서 상기 기판 상에 복수의 신호 전극이 배치되는 반사형 액정 표시 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 반사층의 반사면은 미러면인 반사형 액정 표시 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 반사층은 표면 상에 요철을 갖는 확산 반사면이며, 상기 절연성 박막은 평탄화층으로 기능하는 반사형 액정 표시 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 기판과 상기 배향막간에 배치된 컬러 필터를 더 포함하는 반사형 액정 표시 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 절연성 박막은 대략 1/4 파장의 광학 두께를 갖는 2층 이상 10층 이하의 적층형 유전체 막으로 구성된 반사 보강막, 컬러 필터, 절연층 및 평탄화층 중 적어도 하나로 형성되며, 상기 유전체 막은 굴절률이 낮은 유전체 막과 굴절률이 높은 유전체 막을 교대로 적층하여 형성되는 반사형 액정 표시 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 기판과 상기 대향 배치된 배향막간의 공간 내에서 화소들 사이와 표시 영역의 주변부에 배치된 블랙 매트릭스를 더 포함하는 반사형 액정 표시 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 한 쌍의 기판 외측에 배치된 제1 복굴절성 막, 제2 복굴절성 막 및 편광막을 더 포함하며,상기 액정층은 220°이상 270°이하의 범위 내의 트위스트 각을 갖는 네마틱 액정으로 형성되고,상기 액정층의 굴절률 이방성과 상기 액정층 두께의 곱(product)은 0.74 ㎛ 이상 0.82 ㎛ 이하이며, 상기 제1 복굴절성 막의 굴절률 이방성 Δn과 상기 제1 복굴절성 막 두께의 곱은 160 nm 이상 220 nm 이하이며, 상기 제2 복굴절성 막의 굴절률 이방성과 상기 제2 복굴절성 막 두께의 곱은 370 nm 이상 470 nm 이하이며,소정의 기준축에 대하여, 상기 편광막의 흡수축의 각도는 120°이상 170°이하이며, 상기 제1 복굴절성 막의 지상축(lag axis)의 각도는 70°이상 90°이하이며, 상기 제2 복굴절성 막의 지상축의 각도는 100°이상 140°이하인 반사형 액정 표시 장치.
- 제8항에 있어서, 상기 편광막의 상기 흡수축의 각도는 상기 편광막의 투과축의 각도로 설정되는 반사형 액정 표시 장치.
- 제8항에 있어서, 상기 제1 및 제2 복굴절성 막 및 상기 편광막이 적층되는 적어도 하나의 층간부에 배치된 광 산란층을 더 포함하는 반사형 액정 표시 장치.
- 제10항에 있어서, 상기 광 산란층은 1층 이상 4층 이하의 광 산란층들을 적층하여 형성되는 반사형 액정 표시 장치.
- 제11항에 있어서, 상기 광 산란층은 산란 특성이 동일한 광 산란층들을 적층하여 형성되는 반사형 액정 표시 장치.
- 제11항에 있어서, 상기 광 산란층은 서로 다른 2 종류 이상 4 종류 이하의 광 산란층들을 적층하여 형성되는 반사형 액정 표시 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 액정층의 갭을 유지하는 복수의 컬럼형 스페이서(column like spacer)를 더 포함하는 반사형 액정 표시 장치.
