Abstract

하이브리드 자동차의 ISG 시스템이 개시된다. 본 발명의 실시 예에 따른 하이브리드 자동차의 ISG 시스템은 토크 변환 수단인 유성기어세트와; 모터 및 제너레이터 기능을 수행하는 ISG를 포함하여 이루어지되, 상기 유성기어세트와 ISG는 발전 시 엔진의 크랭크축 회전동력이 증속되어 ISG로 전달되고, 시동 시 ISG의 동력이 감속되어 엔진의 크랭크축으로 전달될 수 있도록 엔진의 크랭크축 풀리에 배치될 수 있다.

Description

하이브리드 자동차의 ISG 시스템 {ISG SYSTEM OF HYBRID ELECTRIC VEHICLE}
본 발명의 실시 예는 하이브리드 자동차의 ISG 시스템(Integrated Starter Generator System)에 관한 것으로서, 보다 상세하게는 엔진의 크랭크축 풀리에 ISG를 장착하여 동력 전달 효율을 향상 시키고, ISG의 토크 용량을 감소시킬 수 있는 하이브리드 자동차의 ISG 시스템에 관한 것이다.
자동차의 친환경 기술은 미래 자동차 산업의 생존이 달린 핵심기술로서, 선진 자동차 메이커들은 환경 및 연비 규제를 달성하기 위한 친환경 자동차 개발에 총력을 기울이고 있다.
이에 따라 각 자동차 메이커들은 전기 자동차(EV: Electric Vehicle), 하이브리드 전기 자동차(HEV: Hybrid Electric Vehicle), 연료전지 자동차(FCEV: Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle) 등을 미래형 자동차 기술로서 개발하고 있다.
상기와 같은 미래형 자동차는 중량 및 원가 등 여러 가지 기술적인 제약이 있기 때문에 자동차 메이커에서는 배기가스 규제를 만족시키고, 연비 성능의 향상을 위한 현실적인 문제의 대안으로서 하이브리드 자동차에 주목하고 있으며, 이를 실용화하기 위해 치열한 경쟁을 벌이고 있다.
하이브리드 자동차는 2개 이상의 에너지원(Power Source)을 사용하는 자동차로서, 여러 가지 방식으로 조합될 수 있으며, 에너지원으로는 기존의 화석 연료를 사용하는 가솔린 엔진 또는 디젤 엔진과 전기 에너지에 의하여 구동되는 모터/제너레이터가 혼합되어 사용된다.
이러한 하이브리드 자동차는 저속에서 상대적으로 저속토크 특성이 좋은 모터/제너레이터를 주 동력원으로 사용하고, 고속에서는 상대적으로 고속토크 특성이 좋은 엔진을 주 동력원으로 사용한다.
이에 따라 하이브리드 자동차는 저속구간에서 화석 연료를 사용하는 엔진의 작동이 정지되고 모터/제너레이터를 사용하기 때문에 연비 개선과 배기가스의 저감에 우수한 효과가 있다.
이 배경기술 부분에 기재된 사항은 발명의 배경에 대한 이해를 증진하기 위하여 작성된 것으로서, 이 기술이 속하는 분야에서 통상의 지식을 가진 자에게 이미 알려진 종래기술이 아닌 사항을 포함할 수 있다.
본 발명의 실시 예는 엔진 크랭크축 풀리에 ISG를 직접 장착함으로써, ISG가 크랭크축과 직접 연결되어 동력 전달 효율을 향상시키고, ISG의 토크 용량을 감소시킬 수 있도록 한 하이브리드 자동차의 ISG 시스템을 제공하고자 한다.
본 발명의 하나 또는 다수의 실시 예에서는 토크 변환 수단인 유성기어세트와; 모터 및 제너레이터 기능을 수행하는 ISG를 포함하여 이루어지되, 상기 유성기어세트와 ISG는 발전 시 엔진의 크랭크축 회전동력이 증속되어 ISG로 전달되고, 시동 시 ISG의 동력이 감속되어 엔진의 크랭크축으로 전달될 수 있도록 엔진의 크랭크축 풀리에 배치될 수 있다.
상기 유성기어세트와 ISG는 선기어와 로터가 직접 연결되고, 유성캐리어와 크랭크축 풀리가 직접 연결되고, 링기어와 스테이터가 직접 연결되면서 엔진 블록에 고정될 수 있다.
상기 유성기어세트의 링기어와 스테이터는 스테이터의 외주측에 고정되는 링기어 풀리와, 엔진 블록측에 고정되는 고정용 풀리를 연결하는 고정용 벨트에 의하여 고정될 수 있다.
본 발명의 실시 예에 따른 하이브리드 자동차의 ISG 시스템은 ISG를 유성기어세트와 함께 크랭크축 풀리에 직접 장착함으로써, 기존 벨트 구동에 따른 벨트 장력 및 축하중과 같은 문제점이 발생되지 않는다.
또한, 상기와 같이 시동 시에는 ISG의 시동 토크가 기어 비만큼 증대됨으로써, 그만큼 ISG의 최대 출력을 줄일 수 있게 되어 ISG의 용량을 작게 하여 재료비 상승을 방지할 수 있다.
또한, 상기와 같이 발전 시에는 엔진으로부터 전달되는 회전동력이 증속되어 ISG로 전달되면서 발전이 이루어짐으로써, ISG가 최대 회전수에 제한받지 않게 할 수 있다.
또한, ISG의 스테이터를 엔진 블록에 직접 고정하지 않으므로 ISG를 고정하기 위한 엔진 블록의 구조 변경을 최소화 할 수 있다.
그 외에 본 발명의 실시 예로 인해 얻을 수 있거나 예측되는 효과에 대해서는 본 발명의 실시 예에 대한 상세한 설명에서 직접적 또는 암시적으로 개시하도록 한다. 즉 본 발명의 실시 예에 따라 예측되는 다양한 효과에 대해서는 후술될 상세한 설명 내에서 개시될 것이다.

이하, 첨부한 도면을 참고로 하여 본 발명의 실시 예에 대하여 본 발명이 속하는 기술 분야에서 통상의 지식을 가진 자가 용이하게 실시할 수 있도록 상세히 설명한다. 그러나 본 발명은 여러 가지 상이한 형태로 구현될 수 있으며 여기에서 설명하는 실시 예에 한정되지 않는다.
본 발명을 명확하게 설명하기 위해서 설명과 관계없는 부분은 생략하였으며, 명세서 전체를 통하여 동일 또는 유사한 구성요소에 대해서는 동일한 참조 부호를 붙이도록 한다.
또한, 하기의 설명에서 구성의 명칭을 제1, 제2 등으로 구분한 것은 그 구성의 명칭이 동일하여 이를 구분하기 위한 것으로, 반드시 그 순서에 한정되는 것은 아니다.
도 1은 본 발명이 적용되는 일반적인 하이브리드 자동차의 동력전달시스템의 모식도이다.
도 1을 참조하면, 본 발명의 적용 부분을 설명하기 위하여 일반적인 패러럴 타입 하이브리드 자동차에 있어서의 TMED(Transmission Mounted Electric Device)방식 동력전달시스템의 일 예를 도시하고 있다.
상기 TMED 방식의 하이브리드 동력전달시스템은 주 동력원인 엔진(ENG)과 보조 동력원인 모터/제너레이터(M/G) 사이에 동력단속수단인 클러치(CL)가 배치되고, 상기 모터/제너레이터(M/G)의 후측에는 상기 엔진(ENG) 및 모터/제너레이터(M/G)로부터 전달되는 회전동력을 변속하여 출력하는 자동 변속기(AT)가 배치되며, 상기 자동변속기(AT)의 후측에는 상기 자동 변속기(AT)로부터 전달되는 회전동력을 구동륜(WH)으로 전달하는 최종 감속기구(FD)가 배치된다.
상기 엔진(ENG)은 하이브리드 스타터 제너레이터(Hybrid Starter Generator; 이하 HSG 라고 칭함)에 의하여 시동되며, 상기 HSG의 고장 시에는 모터/제너레이터(M/G)에 의하여 시동된다.
상기 HSG와 모터/제너레이터(M/G)는 모두 모터와 제너레이터의 기능을 가지며, 고성능 배터리(B)와 전기적으로 연결되어 전원을 공급받거나 충전이 이루어질 수 있도록 구성된다.
상기에서 HSG는 모터와 제너레이터 기능을 가지면서 엔진 시동용 모터와 충전을 위한 제너레이터로만 사용될 뿐 차량 구동용 모터로는 사용되지 않으며, 상기 모터/제너레이터(M/G)는 차량 구동용 모터와 충전을 위한 제너레이터로 사용된다.
그러나 상기와 같이 HSG를 엔진 블록 외측에 배치하고, 엔진의 크랭크축 풀리와 벨트로 연결함으로써, 엔진의 구조 변경을 최소화할 수 있다는 장점은 있으나, 알터네이터 대비 커지는 HSG의 용량 때문에 벨트 장력이 증가되고, 이로 인한 마찰저항 증가의 문제가 발생한다.
이에 따라 최근에는 상기 HSG를 엔진의 크랭크축 관련 부품에 직접 장착함으로써, 상기 문제점을 해결할 수 있는 일체형 스타터 제너레이터(Integrated Starter Generator; 이하, ISG 라고 칭함) 시스템이 제안되고 있으며, 실차에도 적용되어 출고되는 경우도 있다.
도 2는 본 발명의 실시 예에 따른 ISG 시스템의 장착 위치를 설명하기 위한 풀리들의 개략적인 배치 모식도이다.
도 2를 참조하면, 본 발명의 실시 예에 따른 하이브리드 자동차의 ISG 시스템은 크랭크축 풀리(CSP)에 배치되며, 상기 크랭크축 풀리(CSP)는 에어컨 풀리(ACP)를 포함하는 도시하지 않은 각종 보기류와 벨트 연결된다.
상기에서 보기류라고 함은 제너레이터, 에어컨, 워터펌프, 파워 스티어링 등과 같이 엔진의 구동을 보조하는 각종 "보조기계류(補助器械類)"를 줄여 지칭한다.
도 3은 본 발명의 실시 예에 따른 ISG 시스템의 구성도이다.
도 3을 참조하면, 본 발명의 실시 예에 따른 ISG 시스템은 토크 변환수단인 유성기어세트(PG)와, 모터 및 제너레이터 기능을 수행하는 ISG를 포함하여 이루어지며, 크랭크축 풀리(CSP)의 내경부에 배치된다.
상기 크랭크축 풀리(CSP)는 크랭크축(CS)의 전단부에 장착되어 도시하지 않은 각종 보기류와 벨트 연결된다.
상기 유성기어세트(PG)는 싱글 피니언 유성기어세트로서, 선기어(S)와, 상기 선기어(S)의 외주측에 방사상 등간격으로 외접 치합되는 복수의 피니언 기어(P)를 자전 및 공전이 가능하게 지지하는 유성캐리어(PC)와, 상기 복수의 피니언 기어(P)와 내접 치합되어 상기 선기어(S)와 동력 연결되는 링기어(R)를 포함한다.
상기 ISG는 공지와 같이 모터와 제너레이터 기능을 수행하며, 고정체인 스테이터(ST)와, 상기 스테이터(ST)의 반경방향 내측에서 회전 가능하게 지지되는 로터(RT)를 포함하여 이루어진다.
상기에서 유성기어세트(PG)의 선기어(S)는 ISG의 로터(RT)와 직접 연결되며, 유성캐리어(PC)는 크랭크축 풀리(CSP)와 직접 연결되고, 링기어(R)는 스테이터(ST)와 직접 연결되면서 고정요소로 작동될 수 있도록 구성된다.
상기 링기어(R)가 고정요소로 작동할 수 있도록 하기 위하여 스테이터(ST)의 외주측에 링기어 풀리(RP)를 장착하고, 상기 링기어 풀리(RP)는 도 2에서와 같이 엔진 외측에 고정 배치되는 고정용 풀리(FP)와 고정용 벨트(FB)로 연결된다.
도 4는 본 발명의 실시 예에 따른 ISG 시스템의 시동 및 발전 시 작동 설명을 위한 레버선도이다.
도 4를 참조하면, 레버 상의 3개의 노드는 공지와 같이 유성기어세트(PG)의 선기어(S), 유성캐리어(PC), 링기어(R)가 설정되며, 상기 노드간 사이의 길이는 선기어(S)와 링기어(R)의 기어 수에 따라 설정된다.
따라서 엔진 시동 시에는 ISG의 구동에 의하여 선기어(S)로 입력이 이루어지고, 링기어(R)가 고정요소로 작동되면서, 출력요소가 되는 유성캐리어(PC)를 통해 감속 출력이 이루어진다.
이에 따라 ISG의 시동 토크가 기어 비만큼 증대되어 유성캐리어(PC)를 통해 출력되면서 엔진(ENG)의 시동이 이루어지므로 증대된 토크만큼 ISG의 최대 출력을 줄일 수 있게 되어 ISG의 용량을 작게 하여 재료비 상승을 방지할 수 있다.
또한, 엔진(ENG)의 구동에 의한 발전 시에는 상기 시동 시와 반대로 크랭크축(CS)과 직접 연결된 유성캐리어(PC)가 입력요소가 되고, ISG와 연결된 선기어(S)가 출력요소가 되면서 엔진(ENG)의 회전동력이 증속되어 ISG로 전달되면서 발전이 이루어진다.
상기와 같이 본 발명의 실시 예에 따른 하이브리드 자동차의 ISG 시스템은 ISG를 유성기어세트와 함께 크랭크축 풀리에 직접 장착함으로써, 기존 벨트 구동에 따른 벨트 장력 및 축하중과 같은 문제점이 발생되지 않는다.
또한, 상기와 같이 시동 시에는 ISG의 시동 토크가 기어 비만큼 증대됨으로써, 그만큼 ISG의 최대 출력을 줄일 수 있게 되어 ISG의 용량을 작게 하여 재료비 상승을 방지할 수 있다.
또한, 상기와 같이 발전 시에는 엔진(ENG)으로부터 전달되는 회전동력이 증속되어 ISG로 전달되면서 발전이 이루어짐으로써, ISG가 최대 회전수에 제한받지 않게 할 수 있다.
또한, ISG의 스테이터를 엔진 블록에 직접 고정하지 않으므로 ISG를 고정하기 위한 엔진 블록의 구조 변경을 최소화 할 수 있다.
상기에서는 본 발명의 바람직한 실시 예를 참조하여 설명하였으나, 해당 기술 분야에서 통상의 지식을 가진 자라면 하기의 특허 청구의 범위에 기재된 본 발명의 사상 및 영역으로부터 벗어나지 않는 범위 내에서 본 발명을 다양하게 수정 및 변경시킬 수 있음을 이해할 수 있을 것이다.

Claims (5)

  1. 토크 변환 수단인 유성기어세트와;
    모터 및 제너레이터 기능을 수행하는 ISG를 포함하여 이루어지되,
    상기 유성기어세트와 ISG는 발전 시 엔진의 크랭크축 회전동력이 증속되어 ISG로 전달되고, 시동 시 ISG의 동력이 감속되어 엔진의 크랭크축으로 전달될 수 있도록 엔진의 크랭크축 풀리에 배치되며,
    상기 유성기어세트와 ISG는 선기어와 로터가 직접 연결되고, 유성캐리어와 크랭크축 풀리가 직접 연결되며, 링기어와 스테이터가 직접 연결되면서 엔진 블록에 고정되고,
    상기 유성기어세트의 링기어와 스테이터는 상기 스테이터의 외주측에 고정되는 링기어 풀리와, 엔진 블록측에 고정되는 고정용 풀리를 연결하는 고정용 벨트에 의하여 고정되는 하이브리드 자동차의 ISG 시스템.
