Abstract
Description
분지화제는 카복실 그룹 또는 기타 펜던트 그룹(예: 에폭사이드, 실란, 다가 금속 또는 포름알데하이드)을 통해 반응함으로써 분지화되는 모든 화학 물질일 수 있다. 바람직한 분지화제는 중합체가 형성되는 단량체 혼합물에 포함되는 폴리에틸렌계 불포화 단량체이다. 필요한 분지화제의 양은 특정 분지화제에 따라 변한다. 따라서, 메틸렌 비스 아크릴아미드와 같은 폴리에틸렌계 불포화 아크릴산 분지화제가 사용되는 경우, 몰양은 일반적으로 30몰ppm 이하, 바람직하게는 20ppm 이하이다. 일반적으로, 10ppm 이하, 더욱 바람직하게는 5ppm 이하이다. 분지화제의 최적량은 0.5 내지 3몰ppm 또는 3.5몰ppm 또는 3.8ppm이 바람직하지만, 어떤 경우에는 7 내지 10ppm으로 사용하는 것이 바람직할 수도 있다. 분지화제는 수용성이 바람직하다. 전형적으로, 메틸렌 비스 아크릴아미드와 같은 2작용성 물질일 수 있으며, 3작용성, 4작용성 또는 다작용성 가교결합제(예: 테트라 알릴 암모늄 클로라이드)일 수도 있다. 일반적으로 알릴산 단량체가 낮은 반응률을 갖는 경향이 있기 때문에, 이들은 용이하게 중합되지 않으며, 따라서, 테트라 알릴 암모늄 클로라이드와 같은 폴리에틸렌계 불포화 알릴산 분지화제를 사용하는 경우, 예를 들면, 5 내지 30 또는 35몰ppm 또는 38ppm, 심지어는 70 내지 100ppm과 같은 고수준으로 사용하는 것이 통상적이다.
응집 시스템이 양이온성 중합체를 포함하는 경우, 일반적으로 응집 효과를 위해 충분한 양으로 첨가된다. 일반적으로 양이온성 중합체의 양은 현탁액의 무수 중량을 기준으로 하여, 20중량ppm 이상이다. 바람직하게는 양이온성 중합체는 50중량ppm 이상, 예를 들면 100 내지 2000중량ppm의 양으로 첨가된다. 전형적으로 중합체 투여량은 150 내지 600중량ppm, 특히 200 내지 400중량ppm일 수 있다. 전형적으로 분지된 음이온성 중합체의 양은 무수 현탁액의 중량을 기준으로 하여, 20중량ppm 이상, 바람직하게는 50중량ppm 이상, 특히 100 내지 1000중량ppm 이다. 150 내지 600중량ppm 사이의 투여량이 더욱 바람직하며, 200 내지 400중량ppm 사이의 투여량이 특히 바람직하다. 팽윤 가능한 점토는 현탁액의 무수중량을 기준으로 하여, 100중량ppm 이상의 투여량으로 첨가될 수 있다. 예를 들면, 점토의 투여량은 100중량ppm 내지 15,000중량ppm 범위이다. 특정 용도에 대하여, 100 내지 500ppm 내지 1000ppm 이하의 투여량이 본 발명의 방법에 특히 적합할 수도 있다. 특정 용도에서는 예를 들면, 1000 내지 5000중량ppm이 바람직할 수도 있다.

Claims (23)
- 셀룰로즈 현탁액을 형성시키고, 당해 현탁액을 응집시킨 다음, 현탁액을 스크린 상에서 탈수시켜 시트를 형성시키고, 시트를 건조시킴을 포함하는 종이 또는 판지의 제조방법으로서,현탁액의 응집이 수용성 양이온성 중합체를 포함하는 응집 시스템에 의해 이루어지는데, 상기 응집 시스템이 수용성 에틸렌계 불포화 음이온성 단량체 또는 단량체 혼합물 및 분지화제로부터 형성된 분지된 수용성 음이온성 중합체와 팽윤 가능한 점토를 포함하고,상기 분지된 수용성 음이온성 중합체는 (a) 고유점도가 4㎗/g 이상이고, (b) 0.005Hz에서의 탄젠트 δ유동학적 진동값이 0.7 이상이고/이거나, (c) 탈이온화된 SLV 점도수가 분지화제의 부재하에 제조된 상응하는 직쇄 중합체의 가염 SLV 점도수보다 3배 이상이며,상기 팽윤 가능한 점토와 분지된 수용성 음이온성 중합체가 셀룰로즈 현탁액에 첨가되기 전에, 수용성 양이온성 중합체가 셀룰로즈 현택액에 첨가됨을 특징으로 하는, 종이 또는 판지의 제조방법.
- 제1항에 있어서, 팽윤 가능한 점토가 벤토나이트형 점토임을 특징으로 하는, 종이 또는 판지의 제조방법.
- 제1항 또는 제2항에 있어서, 팽윤 가능한 점토가 헥토라이트, 스멕타이트, 몬트모릴로나이트, 논트로나이트, 사포나이트, 사우코나이트, 호르마이트, 아타풀자이트 및 세피올라이트로 이루어진 그룹으로부터 선택됨을 특징으로 하는, 종이 또는 판지의 제조방법.

- 제1항 또는 제2항에 있어서, 상기 응집 시스템 성분들이 셀룰로즈 현탁액에 순차적으로 도입됨을 특징으로 하는, 종이 또는 판지의 제조방법.

- 제1항 또는 제2항에 있어서, 분지된 수용성 음이온성 중합체가 현탁액에 도입된 다음, 팽윤 가능한 점토가 현탁액에 도입됨을 특징으로 하는, 종이 또는 판지의 제조방법.
- 제1항 또는 제2항에 있어서, 상기 응집 시스템의 성분들이 셀룰로즈 현탁액에 동시에 도입됨을 특징으로 하는, 종이 또는 판지의 제조방법.
- 제1항 또는 제2항에 있어서, 셀룰로즈 현탁액이 분지된 수용성 음이온성 중합체와 팽윤 가능한 점토를 도입하기 전에 양이온성 물질을 셀룰로즈 현탁액 또는 이의 성분에 혼입시킴으로써 예비처리됨을 특징으로 하는, 종이 또는 판지의 제조방법.
- 제9항에 있어서, 양이온성 물질이 수용성 양이온성 유기 중합체, 및 알룸, 폴리알루미늄 클로라이드, 알루미늄 클로라이드 3수화물 및 알루미노클로로 수화물을 포함하는 무기 물질 중에서 선택됨을 특징으로 하는, 종이 또는 판지의 제조방법.

- 제1항 또는 제2항에 있어서, 수용성 양이온성 중합체가, 고유점도가 3㎗/g 이상이며 0.005Hz에서의 탄젠트 δ유동학적 진동값이 0.7 이상인 분지된 양이온성 중합체임을 특징으로 하는, 종이 또는 판지의 제조방법.
- 제1항 또는 제2항에 있어서, 수용성 양이온성 중합체의 고유점도가 3㎗/g 이상이며 0.005Hz에서의 탄젠트 δ유동학적 진동값이 1.1 이상임을 특징으로 하는, 종이 또는 판지의 제조방법.
- 제1항 또는 제2항에 있어서, 상기 응집 시스템의 성분 중 하나 이상이 첨가된 다음, 셀룰로즈 현탁액이 기계적 전단처리됨을 특징으로 하는, 종이 또는 판지의 제조방법.
- 제1항 또는 제2항에 있어서, 셀룰로즈 현탁액이 먼저 수용성 양이온성 중합체를 도입함으로써 응집되고, 경우에 따라 셀룰로즈 현탁액을 기계적 전단처리한 다음, 분지된 수용성 음이온성 중합체와 팽윤 가능한 점토를 도입함으로써 셀룰로즈 현탁액이 재응집됨을 특징으로 하는, 종이 또는 판지의 제조방법.
- 제17항에 있어서, 셀룰로즈 현탁액이, 팽윤 가능한 점토를 도입한 후에 분지된 수용성 음이온성 중합체를 도입함으로써 재응집됨을 특징으로 하는, 종이 또는 판지의 제조방법.
- 제17항에 있어서, 셀룰로즈 현탁액이, 분지된 수용성 음이온성 중합체를 도입한 후에 팽윤 가능한 점토를 도입함으로써 재응집됨을 특징으로 하는, 종이 또는 판지의 제조방법.
- 제1항 또는 제2항에 있어서, 셀룰로즈 현탁액이 충전제를 포함함을 특징으로 하는, 종이 또는 판지의 제조방법.
- 제20항에 있어서, 종이 또는 판지의 시트가 충전제를 10 내지 40중량%의 양으로 포함함을 특징으로 하는, 종이 또는 판지의 제조방법.
- 제20항에 있어서, 충전제 물질이 침강 탄산칼슘, 분쇄된 탄산칼슘, 고령토를 포함하는 점토 및 이산화티탄으로부터 선택됨을 특징으로 하는, 종이 또는 판지의 제조방법.
- 제1항 또는 제2항에 있어서, 셀룰로즈 현탁액이 충전제를 함유하지 않음을 특징으로 하는, 종이 또는 판지의 제조방법.
