Description
Claims (12)
- 액정패널을 사용하여 영상을 표시하는 액정표시장치에 있어서,제1입력계조데이터의 비트 수를 감소시켜 출력계조데이터를 생성하는 제1테이블부;상기 제1테이블부에 의해 공급된 상기 출력계조데이터를 상기 액정패널에서 한 프레임영상표시주기만큼 지연시켜 제2입력계조데이터를 생성하는 프레임메모리부; 및상기 제1입력계조데이터 및 상기 제2입력계조데이터간의 크기관계에 따라 미리 저장된 오버슈트계조출력을 생성하는 제2테이블부를 포함하고,상기 액정패널의 영상표시는 상기 오버슈트계조출력을 사용하여 달성되고,상기 제1테이블부는 데이터변환을 수행함으로써 상기 출력계조데이터의 비트 수를 감소시켜, 제1입력계조데이터의 계조값이 작을 때는 상기 출력계조데이터가 거친 간격들로 생성되고, 제1입력계조데이터의 계조값이 클 때마다 상기 출력계조데이터는 더 짧고 미세한 간격들로 생성되는 액정표시장치.
- 삭제
- 제2항에 있어서, 상기 제1입력계조데이터는 8비트로 구성되고 상기 출력계조데이터는 5비트로 구성되는 액정표시장치.
- 제2항에 있어서, 상기 제1입력계조데이터는 6비트로 구성되고 상기 출력계조데이터는 4비트로 구성되는 액정표시장치.
- 제2항에 있어서, 상기 제1입력계조데이터는 6비트로 구성되고 상기 출력계조데이터는 3비트로 구성되는 액정표시장치.
- 제2항에 있어서, 각각의 상기 제1입력계조데이터를 구성하는 적색데이터, 녹색데이터 및 청색데이터 각각은 8비트로 구성되는 반면, 상기 출력계조데이터를 구성하는 적색데이터 및 청색데이터 각각은 5비트로 구성되고 상기 출력계조데이터를 구성하는 녹색데이터는 6비트로 구성되는 액정표시장치.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 제2테이블부는 비트 수를 감소시키는 데이터변환이 수행되지 않을 때 상기 제1입력계조데이터의 계조값이 제1입력계조데이터에 대응하는 상기 제2입력계조데이터의 계조값보다 크거나, 같거나 작은가에 따라서, 상기 제1입력계조데이터보다 크거나, 같거나, 작은 계조값에 대응하는, 상기 비트 수를 변환하는 데이터변환을 수행하여 얻어진 계조값을 생성하는 액정표시장치.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 액정패널은 TN형인 액정표시장치.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 액정패널은 IPS형인 액정표시장치.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 액정패널의 영상표시는 도트역전법에 의해 수행되는 액정표시장치.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 액정패널의 영상표시는 선역전법에 의해 수행되는 액정표시장치.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 액정패널의 영상표시는 프레임역전법에 의해 수행되는 액정표시장치.
