Abstract

　液晶表示装置(10)は、階調レベル信号を印加電圧出力に変換して表示部(1)に送出するソース駆動部(3)と、上記ソース駆動部(3)の前段に設けられ、入力画像データの階調レベル信号を、液晶の応答速度が遅い範囲となる印加電圧の使用が抑制される階調レベル信号に変換する補正演算部(51)とを備えている。各画素におけるサブピクセルの階調値の最大階調値をＭＡＸ、各サブピクセルのデータ変換前の階調値をＰ０、データ変換後の階調値をＰ１とし、αを係数とするとき、補正演算部(51)は、Ｐ１＝Ｐ０＋（ＭＡＸ－Ｐ０）×αの式によって、データ変換を行なう。
