- 적어도 광반사 수단을 갖는 제 1 기판과 광투과성을 갖는 제 2 기판 사이에 삽입되어, 정의 유전율이방성을 가진 트위스트배향된 네마틱액정으로 이루어지는 액정층;적어도 1장의 직선편광판을 갖고, 자연광으로부터 좌우측중 어느 한쪽의 원편광을 선택적으로 투과하는 원편광수단을 포함하고,상기 제 1 기판, 액정층, 및 원편광수단이 적층배치되어 반사형 액정표시장치의 적어도 일부분을 구성하며,상기 원편광수단에 자연광이 입사한 경우에 원편광을 출사하는 상기 원편광수단의 주표면이 상기 액정층측에 있도록 상기 원편광 수단이 배치되며,상기 액정층의 액정의 복굴절율차와 액정층 두께의 곱이 150nm 이상 350nm 이하이고,상기 액정층의 트위스트각이 45도 내지 100도의 범위인 것을 특징으로 하는 반사형 액정 표시 장치.

- 제1항, 제17항 및 제 18항중 어느 하나의 항에 있어서, 상기 원편광수단이, 기판법선방향의 리타데이션이 100nm 이상 180nm 이하로 설정된 제 1 광학 위상차 보상판; 기판법선방향의 리타데이션이 200nm 이상 360nm 이하로 설정된 제 2 광학 위상차 보상판; 및 직선편광판을 포함하고,상기 직선편광판의 투과축 또는 흡수축과 상기 제 1 광학 위상차 보상판의 위상축에 의해 형성된 각도를 θ1로 하고, 상기 직선편광판의 투과축 또는 흡수축과 상기 제 2 광학 위상차 보상판의 위상축에 의해 형성된 각도를 θ2로 하였을 때, |2xθ2-θ1|의 값이 35도 이상 55도 이하인 것을 특징으로 하는 반사형 액정 표시 장치.
- 제19항에 있어서, 상기 액정층의 트위스트각이 60도 내지 100도의 범위이고,상기 액정층의 액정의 복굴절율차와 액정층 두께의 곱이 250nm 이상 330nm 이하이고,상기 제 2 기판 근방의 액정분자의 배향방향과 상기 직선편광판의 투과축 또는 흡수축의 각도(θ3)가 20도 이상 70도 이하, 또는 110도 이상 150도 이하인 것을 특징으로 하는 반사형 액정 표시 장치.
- 제1항, 제 17항 및 제 18항중 어느 하나의 항에 있어서, 상기 광반사성을 갖는 제 1 기판은 광반사막을 포함하고,상기 광반사막은 매끄럽고 연속적으로 변화하는 요철형상을 가지며, 도전성재료로 이루어지는 것을 특징으로 하는 반사형 액정 표시 장치.
- 제21항에 있어서, 상기 광반사막의 매끄럽고 연속하여 변화하는 요철형상은 기판평면상의 방위에 따라 변하는 방향의존성을 갖는 것을 특징으로 하는 반사형 액정 표시 장치.
- 제1항, 제17항 및 제18항중 어느 하나의 항에 있어서, 상기 원편광수단과 액정층 사이에, 액정층의 잔류위상차를 상쇄하기 위한 제 3 광학 위상차 보상판이 적어도 1장 설치되어 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 반사형 액정 표시 장치.
- 제23항에 있어서, 상기 제 3 광학 위상차 보상판중 적어도 1장이 경사진 광축을 갖거나, 또는 내부에 연속적으로 변하는 경사방위를 갖는 3차원 배향된 광축을 갖는 것을 특징으로 하는 반사형 액정 표시 장치.
- 제1항, 제17항 및 제18항중 어느 하나의 항에 있어서, 상기 제 1 및 제 2 광학 위상차 보상판은 각각, 파장 450nm의 광에 대한 굴절율이방성(△n)(450), 파장 650nm의 광에 대한 굴절율이방성(△n)(650), 및 파장 550nm의 광에 대한 굴절율이방성(△n)(550)의 비가,1≤△n(450)/△n(550)≤1.060.95≤△n(650)/△n(550)≤1임을 만족하는 것을 특징으로 하는 반사형 액정 표시 장치.
- 제25항에 있어서, 상기 제 1 및 제 2 광학 위상차 보상판은 각각, 파장 450nm의 광에 대한 굴절율이방성(△n)(450), 파장 650nm의 광에 대한 굴절율 이방성 (△n)(650), 및 파장 550nm의 광에 대한 굴절율이방성(△n)(550)의 비가,1≤△n(450)/△n(550)≤1.0070.987≤△n(650)/△n(550)≤ 1임을 만족하는 것을 특징으로 하는 반사형 액정 표시 장치.
- 제1항, 제17항 및 제 18항중 어느 하나의 항에 있어서, 상기 액정층의 트위스트각이 65도 이상 90도 이하의 범위이고,상기 액정층의 액정의 복굴절율차와 액정층 두께의 곱이 250nm 이상 300nm 이하이고,상기 제 2 기판 근방의 액정분자의 배향방향과 상기 직선편광판의 투과축 또는 흡수축의 각도(θ3)가 110도 이상 150도 이하인 것을 특징으로 하는 반사형 액정 표시 장치.
- 제1항, 제17항 및 제 18항중 어느 하나의 항에 있어서, 상기 제 2 기판 근방의 액정분자의 배향방향과 상기 직선편광판의 투과축 또는 흡수축의 각도(θ3)가 110도 이상 150도 이하이고,상기 제 2 기판 근방의 액정분자의 배향방향으로부터 90도의 방향 및 표시면에 대한 법선에 의해 형성되는 평면내의 방위로 관찰방위가 설정되는 것을 특징으로 하는 반사형 액정 표시 장치.
- 제1항, 제17항 및 제18항중 어느 하나의 항에 있어서, 상기 제 2 기판 근방의 액정분자의 배향방향과 상기 직선편광판의 투과축 또는 흡수축의 각도(θ3)가 20도 이상 70도 이하이고,상기 제 2 기판 근방의 액정분자의 배향방향 및 표시면에 대한 법선에 의해 형성된 평면내의 방위로 관찰방위가 설정되는 것을 특징으로 하는 반사형 액정 표시 장치.
- 제22항에 있어서, 상기 제 2 기판 근방의 액정분자의 배향방향과 상기 직선편광판의 투과축 또는 흡수축의 각도(θ3)가 110도 이상 150도 이하이고,상기 제 2 기판 근방의 액정분자의 배향방향으로부터 90도의 방향 및 표시면에 대한 법선에 의해 형성되는 평면내의 방위로 관찰방위가 설정되며,상기 관찰방위는 상기 광반사막의 요철이 다른 방위들에서 보다 짧은 평균 주기를 갖는 기판 평면의 방위 및 표시면에 대한 법선에 의해 형성되는 평면내로 설정되는 것을 특징으로 하는 반사형 액정 표시 장치.
- 제22항에 있어서, 상기 제 2 기판 근방의 액정분자의 배향방향과 상기 직선편광판의 투과축 또는 흡수축의 각도(θ3)가 20도 이상 70도 이하이고,상기 제 2 기판 근방의 액정분자의 배향방향 및 표시면에 대한 법선에 의해 형성되는 평면내의 방위로 관찰방위가 설정되고,상기 관찰방위는 상기 광반사막의 요철이 다른 방위들에서 보다 짧은 평균 주기를 갖는 기판 평면의 방위 및 표시면에 대한 법선에 의해 형성되는 평면내로 설정되는 것을 특징으로 하는 반사형 액정 표시 장치.
- 제1항, 제17항 및 제18항중 어느 하나의 항에 있어서, 상기 제 2 기판 근방의 액정분자의 배향방향과 상기 직선편광판의 투과축 또는 흡수축의 각도(θ3)가 40도 이상 60도 이하이고,관찰방위 및 표시면에 대한 법선에 의해 형성되는 평면상의 방위와 상기 제 2 기판 근방의 액정분자가 형성하는 각도(θ4)가 0도 이상 30도 이하, 또는 180도 이상 210도 이하로 설정되어 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 반사형 액정 표시 장치.
- 적어도 광반사 수단을 갖는 제 1 기판과 광투과성을 갖는 제 2 기판 사이에 삽입되어, 정의 유전율이방성을 가진 트위스트배향된 네마틱액정으로 이루어지는 액정층;적어도 1장의 직선편광판을 갖고, 자연광으로부터 좌우측중 어느 한쪽의 원편광을 선택적으로 투과하는 원편광수단을 포함하고,상기 제 1 기판, 액정층, 및 원편광수단이 적층배치되어 반사형 액정표시장치의 적어도 일부분을 구성하며,상기 원편광수단에 자연광이 입사한 경우에 원편광을 출사하는 상기 원편광수단의 주표면이 상기 액정층측에 있도록 상기 원편광수단이 배치되며,상기 액정층의 액정의 복굴절율차와 액정층 두께의 곱이 150nm 이상 350nm 이하이고,상기 액정층의 트위스트각이 45도 내지 100도의 범위인 반사형 액정 표시 장치로 구성되는 터치패널을 포함하는 반사형 액정 표시 장치에 있어서,상기 원편광수단과 상기 제 2 기판 사이에 층상의 빈 공간을 구비하여 외부에서의 압압력을 감지하는 평면상 압력 감지 소자가 삽입되는 것을 특징으로 하는 터치패널을 포함하는 반사형 액정 표시 장치.
- 제17항 또는 제18항에 있어서,상기 원편광 수단이, 자연광으로부터 좌우측중 어느 한쪽의 대략 원편광을 가시파장 전역에서 선택적으로 투과하는 것이고,액정측으로의 입사광이 광반사수단 평면내에서 임의 방향의 대략 직선 편광으로 되는 것을 특징으로 하는 반사형 액정 표시 장치.
- 제33항에 있어서, 상기 원편광 수단이, 자연광으로부터 좌우측중 어느 한쪽의 대략 원편광을 가시파장 전역에서 선택적으로 투과하는 것이고,액정측으로의 입사광이 광반사수단 평면내에서 임의 방향의 대략 직선 편광으로 되는 것을 특징으로 하는 반사형 액정 표시 장치.
