浄化性能を評価する際のモデル排気ガスとして、CO,HC,NOXを含有する混合ガスを使用し、ガス成分の条件をストイキ成分とした。モデル排気ガスの流量SVを10万h−1として、各触媒コンバータにモデル排気ガスを流しながら、排ガスの入側の前段でヒータを用いてモデル排気ガスを加熱して昇温過程における浄化率の変化を測定した。浄化率は、触媒コンバータの入側及び出側のガス組成を分析して、その減少率とした。昇温過程において、浄化率が50%になったときの入側ガス温度T50を評価値として、浄化性能を評価した。なお、HC成分のT50を評価値とした。

Claims (8)
- 金属製の平箔と波箔とを積層した触媒担持用ハニカム体において、
前記波箔は、前記積層方向に隣接する一方の前記平箔に接触する第1の天面部と、前記積層方向に隣接する他方の前記平箔に接触し、前記積層方向視において、前記第1の天面部を避けた位置に配置される第2の天面部と、一端が前記第1の天面部に対して第1の曲げ部を介して連設され、他端が前記第2の天面部に対して第2の曲げ部を介して連設されるとともに、前記第1の天面部及び前記第2の天面部に対して傾斜した方向に延びる傾斜脚面部とからなる凹凸形状部を連続させることにより構成されるとともに、前記ハニカム体の軸方向の前後で波の位相が互いに異なるオフセット部を有しており、
前記第1の曲げ部及び前記第2の曲げ部は互いにR形状に形成されており、前記第1の曲げ部の内縁の曲率半径をR1、前記第2の曲げ部の内縁の曲率半径をR2としたときに、曲率半径R1及びR2はそれぞれ以下の条件式(1)及び(2)を満足しており、
前記第1の天面部及び前記第2の天面部の前記積層方向における離隔間隔をh、前記第1の天面部に対して前記第1の曲げ部を介して連設する一対の前記傾斜脚面部の離隔間隔をSとしたときに、以下の条件式(3)を満足することを特徴とする触媒担持用ハニカム体。

- 前記第1の突起部の突出長さをB1、前記第2の突起部の突出長さをB2としたとき、B1及びB2はそれぞれ条件式(4)及び(5)を満足することを特徴とする請求項2に記載の触媒担持用ハニカム体。

- 前記凹凸形状部は、前記軸方向に沿って千鳥状に配列されていることを特徴とする請求項1乃至6のうちいずれか一つに記載の触媒担持用ハニカム体。
- 請求項1乃至7のうちいずれか一つに記載の触媒担持用ハニカム体と、
前記触媒担持用ハニカム体に担持された触媒と、
前記触媒担持用ハニカム体の外周面を囲む金属製の外筒と、
を有することを特徴とする触媒コンバータ。
