Abstract
Description
下記の特許文献2の融着装置では、1つのドラム上に円盤状の超音波ホーンとカッタとが設けられている。このため、ドラムの回転軸の方向に沿って、融着を行うことができない。また、特許文献2は、超音波振動による溶着と、カッタによる切断とをタイミングをずらして行うことを開示していない。
下記の特許文献3の融着装置は、1つのドラム上にヒートシーラとカッタとが設けられている。しかし、特許文献3の装置は、超音波振動をシート状物に印加する装置ではない。
そこで、本溶着装置では、カッタによる切断とホーンの超音波振動の印加による溶着とを同時に行わずに、時期をずらして行うことで、同一ドラム上で溶着および切断が行われても、超音波振動による溶着の信頼性が低下するのを防止している。
すなわち、本溶着装置は、切断時の振動により、ホーンとアンビルとの間の距離が変化して溶着に生じる不具合や、ホーンとアンビルとの間の距離を測定するためのセンサの誤動作を防止し得る。
なお、本溶着装置において、超音波振動の振動数(周期)は限定されるものではないが、たとえば、15,000〜20,000回/秒程度の振動を行うように設定されてもよい。
このように、第1部、第2部および第3部を設けることにより、シート状物を確実に、2つの溶着領域の間において切断することができる。
しかし、本発明において、複数のウエブを含むシート状物における溶着位置と切断位置との関係は限定されず、溶着領域の端(縁)が切断されてもよい。また、本発明においては、シート状物を切り離すことができるように切断してもよいが、シート状物の一部を切り抜いてもよい。
このように、距離が設定されていることで、第3部においてウエブが融着されないから、該第3部においてウエブが硬化しない。したがって、カッタは当該第3部においてウエブを容易に切断することができる。
シート状物がドラムと共に回転する場合、アンビル上のシート状物は、複数個のホーンに、順次、近接し加熱される。こうして、シート状物の同一箇所が複数のホーンにより溶着されるので、溶着に必要な時間を稼ぐことができる。そのため、シート状物の搬送速度を大きくすることができる。
しかし、本発明においては、ホーンの数は限定されるものではなく、ホーンの数は1または複数でもよい。
本発明により生成される最終製品は、たとえば、使い捨てパンツ、オムツや生理用品などの使い捨て着用物品であってもよい。

図1は第1実施例を示す。
図1に示すように、本溶着装置1は、連続したシート状物Wを搬送しながら、たとえば、図5(a)のシート状物Wの溶着対象部位Wsに超音波振動を与えて当該溶着対象部位Wsのウエブ同士を熱融着させ、その後に該シート状物Wを切断するものである。シート状物Wは、たとえば中間品であってもよい。シート状物Wは、互いに重ね合わされた第1ウエブW1および第2ウエブW2を備えており、2枚のウエブW1,W2の重なり部分における所定の溶着対象部位Wsが融着される。たとえば、図5(b)に示すように、中間品Wは前記溶着対象部位Wsである2つの溶着領域において、ウエブ同士が互いに溶着(接着)された後、前記2つの溶着領域Wsの間の切断線CL に沿って切断されて個々の製品(パンツやオムツ)となる。
なお、搬送部22は、バキュームを用いてシート状物Wを吸着保持する、いわゆるパッドであるのが好ましい。ホーン11がシート状物Wの押さえ部材などに接触するのを防止するためである。
なお、図示を可能とするために、各図において、アンビル21とホーン11の先端との距離を実際よりも若干大きく図示している。
一方、前記第1および第2距離r1,r2は、回転中心Oから前記第3部a3までの第3距離r3よりも大きく設定されている。すなわち、カッタ31を受ける前記第3部a3は、ホーン11の振動を受ける前記第1部a1および第2部a2よりも回転中心Oに向って凹んでいる。すなわち、アンビル21の先端部は略「凹」字型に形成されている。
前記センサとしては、たとえば、以下に説明するように、静電容量の測定により距離を測定する容量センサが用いられてもよい。
図2(a)のように、アンビル21のうちの1つのアンビル21aが上流のホーン11aに対向する位置までドラム20が回転すると、上流のホーン11aにより前記アンビル21a上のシート状物Wの所定の位置に溶着WT (図5)が施され、溶着領域Wsが形成される。すなわち、アンビル21aがホーン11aを通過すると、図5(a)の非溶着領域Wcをはさんだ両側に溶着領域Wsが形成される。
たとえば、いわゆる横流れまたは縦流れの着用物品に溶着を施してもよい。また、製品ごとの大きさに切断されたシート状物の一部を溶着してもよい。
したがって、そのような変更および修正は、請求の範囲から定まる本発明の範囲内のものと解釈される。
Claims (5)
- 第1ウエブおよび第2ウエブが重なり合う重なり部分を溶着する溶着装置であって、
所定の軸線のまわりを回転するドラムと、
前記ドラムの外周に設けられ、前記ドラムと共に回転し、前記第1および第2ウエブを保持しながら搬送する搬送部と、
前記ドラムの外周に設けられ、前記ドラムと共に回転し、概ね前記軸線の方向に沿って延びるアンビルと、
前記ドラムの外周に近接して設けられ、前記アンビルと協働して、振動エネルギーを前記重なり部分に与えるホーンと、
前記ドラムの外周に近接して設けられ、前記アンビルと当接して、前記第1および第2ウエブを切断するカッタと、
前記アンビルと前記ホーンとの間の距離を測定するセンサと、
前記センサにより測定された前記アンビルと前記ホーンとの間の距離に基づき、前記アンビルと前記ホーンとの間の距離を制御する制御部と、を備え、
前記ホーンが、前記アンビルと協働して、前記振動エネルギーを前記第1および第2ウエブに与える際、前記カッタによる前記第1および第2ウエブの切断が行われない溶着装置。 - 前記アンビルが、前記ホーンの振動を受ける第1部および第2部と、前記カッタを受ける第3部を有し、該第3部は前記第1部と第2部との間に位置し、
前記第1部、前記第3部、前記第2部が、その順番で、前記ドラムの周方向に沿って並んでいる請求項1に記載の溶着装置。 - 前記アンビルの回転中心から前記第1部までの距離と前記回転中心から前記第2部までの距離とが概ね同じである、請求項2に記載の溶着装置。
- 前記アンビルの回転中心から前記第1部および前記第2部までの距離が、前記回転中心から前記第3部までの距離よりも長い、請求項2もしくは3に記載の溶着装置。
- 第1ウエブおよび第2ウエブが互いに重なり合う重なり部分を溶着する溶着装置であって、
回転可能であり、前記第1および第2ウエブを搬送する搬送部と、
前記搬送部と共に回転し、回転軸方向に延びるアンビルと、
前記アンビルと協働して、振動エネルギーを前記重なり部分に与えるホーンと、
前記アンビルと前記ホーンとの間の距離を測定するセンサと、
前記センサからの情報に基づき、前記ホーンと前記アンビルとの間の距離を制御する制御部と、
前記第1および第2ウエブを切断するカッタとを備え、
前記アンビルおよび搬送部が、前記ホーンが配置されている位置から、前記カッタが配置されている位置に移動可能であり、
前記アンビルと前記ホーンが、前記第1および第2ウエブを溶着する際、前記カッタによる第1および第2ウエブの切断が行われない溶着装置。
