Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve cooling efficiency as well as to maintain cooling water at high temperature by providing an open/close valve opening/closing at the time of abrupt load fluctuation in a radiator bypass passage for a cooling system wherein the opening temperature of a thermostat valve is set high in order to improve fuel consumption. CONSTITUTION:The discharge side 8 of a water pump 7 is connected with the hot zone 5a of the combustion side in the cooling water passage 5 through an inlet side passage 9, and the suction side zone 5b in the cooling water passage 5 is also connected with thermostat valves 10 and 11 through an outlet passage 12. On the other hand, the thermostat valves are communicated with the inlet side of the water pump through a bypass passage 14 equipped with an open/close valve 43. A CPU 51 to which loading signals, water temperature signals and revolution signals are inputted lets the open/close valve 43 be closed through a three way solenoid valve 48 at the time of quick acceleration so as to close the bypass passage 14 for introducing the whole amount of cooling water to a radiator 16, and lets the bypass passage 14 be fully opened as well when load is abruptly decreased.
