【発明の詳細な説明】
[産業上の利用分野]
本発明はレーザ光によって情報を記録再生することので
きる光記録媒体に関するものでおる。

[従来の技術]
レーザ光によって情報を媒体に記録し、かつ再生する光
デイスクメモリは、記録密度が高いことから大容量記録
装置として優れた特徴を有している。この光記録媒体材
料としては、最初にタンタルと鉛が使用された(サイエ
ンス(Science) 154゜1550、1966
) )。それ以来種々の材料が使用されているが、テル
ル(Te)等のカルコゲン元素又はこれらの化合物はよ
く使用されており(特公昭41−26897号公報)、
とくにテルル−セレン系合金はよく使用されている(特
公昭54−41902号公報、特公昭57−7919号
公報、特公昭57−56058号公報)。
デイスクメモリは、記録密度が高いことから大容量記録
装置として優れた特徴を有している。この光記録媒体材

ン、ポリメチルペンテン、アクリル、エポキシ樹脂等の

円状あるいはスパイラル状に一定間隔で精度よく記録さ
れるように通常案内溝が設けられている。

しかしながら、テルル−セレン合金膜では良好な品質の
記録再生信号が安定に得られなかった。

成分とすることにより、信号品質か良好となることを見
出し、すでに提案している。本発明はこれをざらに改善
したものでおり、耐候性がよくかつ高感度で良好な品質
の信号を安定に得ることのできる光記録媒体を提供する
ことを目的とする。

[問題点を解決するための手段]
本発明は基板と、レーザ光によって一部が選択的に除去
されて情報を記録する前記基板上に形成された記録層と
からなる光記録媒体において、テルルとセレンと窒素と
を主成分とする記録層を有し、かつこの記録層は、厚さ
方向中央部近傍の窒素含有量が少なくとも一方の界面近
傍の窒素含有■よりも少ないことを特徴とする光記録媒
体でおる。

域が窒素含有量が一定のときよりも好都合な形状になる
ためと思われる。
グやフォーカスの一す−ボか不安定にならないのて実用
的な光記録媒体となる。ピットが大きく拡がらずに安定
に形成される理由は明確ではないが、窒素含有量が厚さ
方向で異なることにより、光記録時の記録層中の溶融領
域が窒素含有量が一定のときよりも好都合な形状になる
ためと思われる。
[実施例]
以下本発明の実施例について説明する。
100 ’Cで2時間アニール処理した内径15M、外
径130#、厚ざ1,2履の案内溝付ぎポリカーボネー
ト樹脂ディスク基板上に、テルル−セレン合金ターゲッ
トをアルゴンと窒素との混合カスでマグネトロンスパッ
タして、テルル−セレン−窒素層を作製した。この成膜
のときに、窒素ガスの分圧を変化させることにより、基
板との界面付近と表面付近の窒素元素の含有量が多くな
るようにした。
径130#、厚ざ1,2履の案内溝付ぎポリカーボネー
ト樹脂ディスク基板上に、テルル−セレン合金ターゲッ
トをアルゴンと窒素との混合カスでマグネトロンスパッ
タして、テルル−セレン−窒素層を作製した。この成膜
のときに、窒素ガスの分圧を変化させることにより、基
板との界面付近と表面付近の窒素元素の含有量が多くな
るようにした。
窒素元素の多いほうの部分のテルルとセレンと窒素の比
は原子数パーセントでおよそ82対8対10とし、少な
いほうの部分の比はおよそ85対9対6とした。窒素元
素の多いほうの部分の厚さは基板側、表面側ともにおよ
そ20Aとし、少ない部分の厚さはおよそ20OAとし
た。しかる後、温度85°C1相対湿度90%の環境に
12時間保存して光記録媒体を作製した。この光ディス
クの基板入射における波長8300への反射率を測定し
たところ、約24%でおった。波長8300人の半導体
レーザ光を基板を通して入射し、記録層上で1.6JJ
Jnφ程度に絞り、媒体線速度5.65111/5eC
1記録周波713.77MHz、記録パルス幅70ns
ec 、記録パワー6、0mWの条件で記録し、0、7
mWで再生した。バンド幅30kH2のキャリアーとノ
イズとの比(C/N)は49dBと良好でおった。この
値は、記録再生装置を変更することにより生ずる記録パ
ワー変動に対しても実用上充分に安定でおった。この光
ディスクを70’C180%の高温高)3度の環境に6
0時間保存した後、上記特性を調べたが変化はなく、耐
候性に優れた光記録媒1本て必ることが確ル2された。

以上説明したように、本発明の光記録媒体は耐候性がよ
く、かつ高感度で良好な品質の信号を安定に得ることが

Claims (1)
- (1)基板と、レーザ光によって一部が選択的に除去さ
れて情報を記録する前記基板上に形成された記録層とか
らなる光記録媒体において、テルルとセレンと窒素とを
主成分とする記録層を有し、かつこの記録層は、厚さ方
向中央部近傍の窒素含有量が少なくとも一方の界面近傍
の窒素含有量よりも少ないことを特徴とする光記録媒体
。
