Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 本発明は、液体を通される異なる温度レベルの
複数の過給空気冷却器を有し、これらの冷却器が
過給空気流中に温度が順次低くなるように前後に
設けられ、これら冷却器の再冷却器が冷却空気流
中に温度が順次高くなるように前後に設けられて
いる、高過給されかつ過給空気を冷却される内燃
機関に関する。
このような内燃機関は公知である(特公昭43―
28357号公報)。この構成では、高温冷却回路も低
温冷却回路も、冷却媒体として水を通されてい
る。一方過給空気冷却器の冷却媒体として、空気
で再冷却される機関潤滑油を用いることも公知で
ある(英国特許第995674号明細書)。
しかし高過給される内燃機関では、過給空気温
度は著しく高温になるので、充分な冷却を行なう
ためには、それに応じて多くの熱量を放出せねば
ならない。この場合水または潤滑油のみを冷却媒
体とする冷却装置は必ずしも満足すべきものでは
ない。
本発明の課題は、高温冷却回路用冷却媒体とし
て潤滑油を使用し、低温冷却回路用冷却媒体とし
て水を使用することによつて、高過給内燃機関の
最小の構造費および所要空間で、充分大きい熱量
を放出すると共に、運転状態に応じて冷却作用を
制御し、また過給空気の予熱も行なうことができ
るようにすることである。
この課題を解決するため本発明によれば、最高
温度レベルをもつ冷却器として、内燃機関のエン
ジンオイルが直接通る油冷却器が設けられて、そ
の再冷却器が最高温度レベルをもつ冷却器として
内燃機関の冷却空気流中にあり、低温の冷却回路
に属する過給空気冷却器が冷却媒体側に少なくと
も1つのバイパス管路をもつている。
こうして高過給内燃機関において生ずる圧縮さ
れた空気の高い温度でも、このエンジンオイル冷
却すなわち潤滑油冷却により充分な放熱が保証さ
れ、これより低温の水で動作する冷却器と組合わ
せて使用することにより、最小の空間で過給空気
の冷却効果を向上することができる。またこれら
過給空気冷却器の再冷却器が内燃機関の冷却空気
流中にあるので、これら再冷却器のために付加的
な送風機を設ける必要がなく、構造費が低減され
る。さらに低温冷却回路に属する1つまたは複数
の過給空気冷却器が冷却媒体にバイパス管路をも
ち、内燃機関の部分負荷または低負荷の範囲にお
いて冷却媒体が、例えば燃料供給量または排気ガ
ス温度に関係してバイパス制御されるので、冷却
による過給空気の温度を、機関の運転条件へ最適
に適合させることが可能となる。バイパス管路を
完全に開くと、低温冷却回路の冷却媒体はもはや
過給空気流中にあるその冷却器へ流れず、高温の
エンジンオイルのみがその冷却器へ流れるので、
場合によつては過給空気の予熱により機関の運転
性能を改善することも可能である。
最低温度レベルの冷却器として水を通される冷
却器を使用するのがよい。さらに内燃機関の冷却
媒体回路用再冷却器が、過給空気冷却媒体回路の
再冷却器の間に設けられていると、再冷却器の温
度レベルに関して有利な配置が得られる。
図面に示された実施例について本発明を以下に
説明する。
図において1で示す水冷往復ピストン内燃機関
は、排気ガスターボ送風機2により過給される。
排気ガスターボ送風機2から、燃焼用空気は矢印
の方向に順次3つの過給空気冷却器22,11,
17を通り、そこから過給空気管路6へ達する。
送風機により生ずる冷却空気流9中には一体の再
冷却器16,7,21が設けられている。再冷却
器16は双子ポンプ18の一方によつて過給空気
冷却器17とのに冷却水を循環せしめられる。内
燃機関1の水冷却器7は、過給空気冷却器11用
の再冷却器として、双子ポンプ18の他方により
機関冷却水を通される。さらに再冷却器21は、
冷却媒体を内燃機関1の潤滑油として、ポンプ2
3により過給空気冷却器22との間に循環せしめ
られる。
過給空気冷却器11および17の冷却回路は、
それぞれ切換え弁25および20により制御され
るバイパス管路24および19をもつている。そ
れにより、燃料供給量あるいは排気ガス温度に関
係して、過給空気冷却器11および17の冷却媒
体側をバイパスして、部分負荷または低負荷の範
囲において、再冷却器7および16に関連する過
給空気冷却器11および17を通る燃焼用空気を
効果的に冷却または予熱することができる。
この冷却装置は非常にこじんまりした構造で、
冷却または予熱の制御によつて、過給空気温度を
広範囲にわたつて内燃機関の最適な運転のための
要求に合わせることが可能になる。

Claims (1)

  1. 【特許請求の範囲】 1 液体を通される異なる温度レベルの複数の過
    給空気冷却器22,11,17を有し、これらの
    冷却器22,11,17が過給空気流中に温度が
    順次低くなるように前後して設けられ、これら冷
    却器の再冷却器16,7,21が冷却空気流9中
    に温度が順次高くなるように設けられているもの
    において、最高温度レベルをもつ冷却器として、
    内燃機関1のエンジンオイルが直接通る油冷却器
    22が設けられて、その再冷却器21が最高温度
    レベルをもつ冷却器として内燃機関1の冷却空気
    流9中にあり、低温の冷却回路に属する過給空気
    冷却器11,17が冷却媒体側に少なくとも1つ
    のバイパス管路24,19をもつていることを特
    徴とする、高過給されかつ過給空気を冷却される
    内燃機関。 2 過給空気流中にある最低温度レベルの冷却器
    として、水を通される冷却器が設けられているこ
    とを特徴とする、特許請求の範囲第1項に記載の
    内燃機関。 3 過給空気冷却器の冷却媒体回路の再冷却器1
    6,21の間に、内燃機関1の冷却媒体回路用冷
    却器7が設けられていることを特徴とする、特許
    請求の範囲第1項に記載の内燃機関。
