Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 本発明は、高周波成形機により熱可塑性樹脂製
クリツプを熱可塑性樹脂製モール本体に結合する
ようにしたクリツプ付モールの製造方法に関する
ものである。
従来の自動車用装飾モールは、主として熱可塑
性樹脂を押出成形又は射出成形とにより製造され
ていた。押出成形はモール本体の断面形状が一定
である場合になされるもので、モール本体にクリ
ツプが取付いたものを押出成形することは不可能
である。モールを自動車ボデイに確実に係着させ
ておくために、クリツプの形状と寸法は正確なも
のが要求される。他方、射出成形の場合はモール
本体の断面形状が一定であるものも一定でないも
のも、又クリツプ付きのモールをも製造すること
ができる。しかし射出成形の致命的欠点として、
金型製作費用や射出成形機自体が非常に高価であ
り、また金型製作に時間がかかる等の不具合があ
つた。
このため発明者は上記欠点に鑑み、高周波成形
機を使用してクリツプ付きモールを製造できない
かと思考した。即ち、本願発明はモール本体にク
リツプのボデイ部をセツトし高周波成形機によつ
て樹脂を局部的溶融させ前記モール本体とクリツ
プとを結合させることによつてモールを製造せん
とするものである。
本発明に係るクリツプ付モールの製造方法にお
いてはモール本体およびクリツプを構成する熱可
塑性樹脂の少なくとも一方は高周波加熱で容易に
発熱する誘電損失の大きい樹脂であることが望ま
しい。かかる樹脂としてはポリ塩化ビニル、ポリ
ブチレンテレフタレート等のポリエステル、ポリ
アセタール等である。また両者を構成する熱可塑
性樹脂は相互に親和性が良く溶接されるものでな
ければならない。溶接性からみると同一材質の組
合せが好ましい。また溶接時に樹脂が溶融し形状
が保持されないことを考えると形状保持が望まれ
るクリツプをモール本体より発熱しにくい材料で
構成するのが好ましい場合もある。かかる場合に
クリツプのボデイに容易に加熱され溶融する熱可
塑性樹脂の接合片を組み付け、接合を容易にする
ことが好ましい。またモール本体にはクリツプの
ボデイが挿入される凹部を設けておくのが好まし
い。
高周波加熱は接合部のみに高周波が作用し、そ
の部分のみが溶融し融着するのが好ましい。特に
クリツプの頭部が加熱されないようにする必要が
ある。この方法として高周波加熱機の電極間に加
熱したい部分のみを入れ、加熱したくない部分特
にクリツプ頭部を電極間から離すことが望まし
い。このため電極の一部に凹部を形成し、この凹
部にクリツプの頭部を入れると高周波加熱の効果
が減少するから、クリツプ頭部の加熱を防止でき
る。また加熱により溶融し形状が変るのを防ぐた
めシリコン樹脂等の誘電損失の小さい物質で型を
作り、型内で加熱することもできる。クリツプの
頭部がどうしても加熱され溶融する場合にはクリ
ツプ頭部を電極の凹部にはめた型で覆うようにす
る。この場合にはクリツプの頭部が加熱されて溶
融しても型により再成形されるため目的のクリツ
プの頭部のものが得られる。なお、考え方とし
て、溶融して形状が変化する部分にはシリコン樹
脂等の型をあてがい変形を防止する。
以下、本発明の実施例を添付図面に基いて説明
する。
第1図、第2図は本発明に係る装飾モール10
を示すもので、該モール10は熱可塑性樹脂製の
モール本体2と複数個の熱可塑性樹脂製のクリツ
プ3とから成つている。
第3図は断面形状が一定であるモール本体2を
示している。このようなモール本体2は通常押出
成形により製造されるものであるが、別段本発明
に必要なモール本体としては断面一定なものに限
定されるものではない。そして成形後に、下面2
aにクリツプ取付用の穴2bが穿設される。な
お、取付穴2bはかならずしも必要とするもので
はない。例えばモール本体とクリツプが同材質で
接合が容易である場合にはモール本体の表面に直
接クリツプを接合できる。
クリツプ3の形状を例示すれば第4図、第5図
の如くである。第4図のクリツプ3Aは一体成形
されている例で材質はモール本体2と同質のもの
でも異質のものでもよい。同質の場合はモール本
体2との接着度合が強いが異質の場合は少し弱
い。モール本体の材質としては通常塩化ビニー
ル、ポリアセタール樹脂などが使用される。
前記クリツプ3Aは下方に延在する略三角形の
頭部103と断面円形の軸部113と断面円形の
ボデイ部123と鍔部133とから成つている。
前記三角形頭部103の根元外周部143は弾
性を有し、矢印方向にたわみ得るように形成され
ている。
第5図のクリツプ3BはクリツプPに接合片Q
を組合わせた例である。第4図の部分と同形状の
部分については同じ番号が付してある。クリツプ
Pのボデイは小円部203と大円部213とが軸
部223で結合された構成となつている。接合片
Q(第6図の平面図参照)はリング状で周辺から
中心部に切込み233が設けられている。
この切込み233にクリツプPの軸部223が
第6図の矢印方向に挿入され、接合片Qの切込み
233の絞り部243を押し拡げるようにして押
込まれ、その軸部223は中心孔253の部分に
位置することになる。つまり、第5図の状態にな
る。この状態でクリツプPと接合片Qは完全に係
合され第6図の矢印と反対の方向に抜け出ること
はない。クリツプPの三角形部分103の根元外
周部143が弾性を有する点は前述の第4図のク
リツプ3Aの場合と同様である。
なお、接合片Qを形成する熱可塑性樹脂はクリ
ツプPを形成する熱可塑性樹脂より高周波加熱の
容易なもの望ましくは加熱が容易でモール本体と
同じ樹脂がよい。
尚、第4図、第5図の鍔部133は外方に突出
しているわけであるが、別段第4図の二点鎖線の
ような凹部としてもよい。この場合は、後述のよ
うな方法で高周波成形機で加熱したとき前記凹部
内にモール本体の溶融樹脂が流れ込むことにより
モール本体とクリツプとが結合される。
次にモール本体2の穴2bにクリツプ3を結合
する方法について説明する。第7図のようにモー
ル本体2を、シリコンゴム製の下型11の凹部1
1aにセツトし、次にモール本体2の複数個の孔
2b内にクリツプ3をそれぞれセツトする。しか
る後に、金属製の電極12をかぶせる。該電極1
2にはクリツプ3の三角形頭部103が十分に入
り得るような凹部12aが設けられている。その
後、高周波成形機13にセツトし加熱する。該加
熱によりモール本体2および接合片133を内部
発熱及び溶融させることにより穴2bとクリツプ
3との間に存する間隙14を埋め、第9図のよう
にモール本体2とクリツプ3を完全に固定する。
この場合、モール本体2とクリツプ3が異質材料
であるときはモール本体2あるいはモール本体2
と接合片133が溶融して上記のように間隙14
が埋まるのであり、同質材料であるときは両材の
表面が溶融して両者が結合する。
尚、第8図は第7図の構成物を取り出して図示
したものである。
以上の実施例説明においてはモール本体2に穴
2bを設けることとして説明したが必ずしも穴を
設けなければできないというものではない。即ち
溶融状態の樹脂中にクリツプを押圧してクリツプ
のボデイ部を埋込ませてもよいし、また埋込ませ
ずに前記ボデイ部の面とモール本体2の面とを溶
融状態において面接着しても十分使用に耐えう
る。
このように本発明は、モール本体にクリツプの
ボデイ部をセツトし高周波成形機によつて樹脂を
溶融させ前記モール本体とクリツプとを結合させ
るようにしたため、モール本体の断面形状が一定
である場合は勿論、一定でないものについても、
特に従来の射出成形に比して格段に安価な方法で
装飾モールを製造することができる。この場合、
本発明の高周波成形による場合でも型を作る必要
があるわけであるが、射出成形に必要な金型製作
費に比べれば極めて安価であり、又短時間で製作
できる。

品の一部を示す断面図、第9図は高周波成形によ
りつくられた後の装飾モール10の一部を示す断
面図である。 図中、符号10は装飾モール、2はモール本
体、3はクリツプ、13は高周波成形機である。

Claims (1)

  1. 【特許請求の範囲】 1 熱可塑性樹脂製クリツプのボデイが挿入され
    る凹部が設けられておりかつ該クリツプを構成す
    る熱可塑性樹脂より誘電損失が大きい熱可塑性樹
    脂製モール本体の該凹部に該クリツプのボデイを
    組付ける工程と、 該モール本体と該クリツプのボデイとの当接部
    分を含む部分に局部的高周波加熱を行つて主とし
    て該モール本体の部分を溶融再成形し、該クリツ
    プのボデイを該モール本体に一体成形する工程と
    を順次実施することを特徴とするクリツプ付モー
    ルの製造方法。 2 クリツプの頭部が充分入り得る凹部を有する
    電極の該凹部にクリツプの頭部を収容し該モール
    と該クリツプのボデイとの当接部分を含む部分に
    成形型をあてて局部的高周波加熱を行つて溶融再
    成形する特許請求の範囲第1項に記載のクリツプ
    付モールの製造方法。 3 クリツプのボデイには凹部が形成されこの凹
    部に該クリツプを構成する熱可塑性樹脂より誘電
    損失の大きい接合片が組み込まれている特許請求
    の範囲第1項に記載のクリツプ付モールの製造方
    法。
