Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 本発明は自動車など車両の運転室に設けられる
インストルメントパネル、特に該パネル本体の後
縁より突出した保護パツド構造に関する。
車両の運転室の前方に設ける、計器類を配備し
たインストルメントパネルには、乗員の保護を目
的として、その表面に弾力性のある保護パツドが
貼り付けてある。
従来第１図、第２図（実公昭42−7142号公報参
照）に示すように、インストルメントパネル本体
１の上面全般に保護パツド２が貼られ、運転席側
の後縁に沿つて堤状に突出して取手３が形成され
ている。
尚、４は、保護パツド２に形成された物置用の
窪み、５は計器、６はステアリングハンドル、７
はコンソールボツクス、８は空気吹出口、９はス
ピーカー、１０はグローブロツク１１を有するグ
ローブボツクスである。
かかる構成によれば、車両の揺動などがあつて
も乗員は取手３をつかむだけで確実に支持される
ものの第２図に示すように保護パツド２による取
手３を支持するインストルメントパネル本体１の
突起１２は車両衝突時の衝撃ピークが高くなり、
乗員保護の見地から好ましいものといえない。
又、この突起１２を弱く形成していて衝撃ピーク
を緩和しても破損した場合、インストルメントパ
ネル本体１そのものを交換しなければならないた
め、ユーザーに高価な買物を強いることになり、
好ましいインストルメントパネルといえない。
本発明の目的はこのような課題を解決すること
である。
そのために本発明では、インストルメントパネ
ル本体の後縁部に沿つて、パネル本体とは別体
の、内部に空胴部分のある断面逆Ｕ字状の保護パ
ツドを着脱自在に取付けてある。
以下、本発明の一実施例を図面にもとづいて説
明する。
第３図〜第５図の実施例において、インストル
メントパネル本体２０の後縁部２５、即ち計器類
２１を配備するフード部２２を除いて、ラジオ、
ヒータースイツチ類２３やグローブボツクス２４
の上部に沿つて、突出した堤状の保護パツド２６
が着脱自在に取付けられている。
保護パツド２６は内部に空胴部２７をもつ断面
逆Ｕ字状に形成されたパツド材２８と、該パツド
材２８内に配されたインサートプレート２９と該
インサートプレート２９の両端面のところどころ
から突出させた爪部３０，３１とよりなり、前記
爪部３０，３１がインストルメントパネル本体２
０に係止される。
保護パツド２６は乗員が急発進急制動時、悪路
走行時あるいは乗降時に把む、把手の役目をもつ
ので、把みやすくするために、後方（Ａ方向）側
へと突出する面３２と、前方（Ｂ方向）側では逆
に幾分かへこんだ面３３が形成される。
上記インサートプレート２９の一方の爪部３１
は、インストルメントパネル本体２０の上面部３
２に形成した挿込溝３３に挿し込んで折り曲げて
固定するとともに、もう一方の爪部３０は前側部
３４に設けた挿込溝３５に挿し込んで、前側部３
４からタツピングスクリユ３６で止めてある。
したがつて、保護パツド２６を交換するとき
は、タツピングスクリユ３６を緩めて爪部３０を
抜き、折り曲げた他方の爪部３１を外せばよい。
以上のように構成したので、乗員は必要に応じ
て保護パツド２６を把んで身体の安定を保つこと
ができるし、仮に急制動時など身体の一部を保護
パツド２６にぶつけたとしても、内部に空胴部２
７があることも手伝つて、衝撃は十分に緩和され
る。
保護パツド２６が破損したときは、爪部３０，
３１を外してこれを単体で交換することができ
る。
なお、保護パツド２６で取り囲まれたインスト
ルメントパネル本体２０の上面部３２は、物置台
として利用することができるし、必要に応じてこ
の部分を薄いパツドで被覆してもよい。
以上のように本発明は、堤状の保護パツドをイ
ンストルメントパネル本体とは別体に形成し、イ
ンストルメントパネル本体の後縁角部に沿つて着
脱自在に取付けたので、保護パツドの損傷時には
簡単にこの部分のみ交換できて無駄が少なく、ま
たインストルメントパネル本体とは別個につくる
ので容易に最も把みやすい形状さらには衝撃を吸
収しやすい形状にすることができるとともに、イ
ンストルメントパネル本体自体の形状も、パツド
取付け部分に挿込溝などをつくるだけなので簡略
化がはかれる。

Claims (1)

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. １ 車両前方側にへこみ面かつ後方側に突出面を
    もつ断面が逆Ｕ字状に形成したパツド材の内部
    に、略同一形状に形成したインサートプレートを
    配置して内部を空洞部とした全体として堤状の保
    護パツドを構成し、該保護パツドのインサートプ
    レートの両端面から突設した爪部を、インストル
    メントパネル本体の後縁角部に沿つて形成した挿
    込溝に挿入係止したことを特徴とする車両のイン
    ストルメントパネル。
