Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 本発明は発泡樹脂内部に粉末真空断熱部をもつ
新規な断熱材に関するものである。
従来、保温・保冷用断熱材として、無機材料で
はガラス繊維、有機材料では発泡樹脂が使われて
きた。電気冷蔵庫のような冷凍・冷蔵機器では、
ある種のフレオンガスにより発泡させられた発泡
ポリウレタンが用いられており、その熱伝導率は
0.015Kcal/mh℃に達している。この発泡ポリウ
レタンの熱伝導率をさらに下げる対策として、気
泡の大きさをできるだけ小さくするなどいくつか
の方法が考えられてはいるがそれでも熱伝導率を
0.013Kcal/mh℃以下に下げることは容易でない
状況にある。また、この発泡ポリウレタンは、発
泡気体としてトリクロロ・モノフルオロメタンの
ガスを含む気体を使用しているため、原理的にも
このガスの熱伝導率0.007Kcal/mh℃がこの断熱
材の熱伝導率の限界であることが理解できる。こ
の限界を越え得る一つの方法は真空断熱の利用で
ある。真空断熱には、マホウビンのように単に容
器を二重層としその間を真空とする高真空断熱法
以外に、真空に引く二重容器の間隙に微粉末をつ
め込んでしかる後に真空に引く粉末真空断熱法が
知られている。後者の場合は、前者の場合ほど高
い真空度を要しない点に特長がある。しかしなが
ら、いずれの方法をとるにせよ、真空を利用する
以上その容器は相当強固な材料を用いねばならな
い。このため電気冷蔵庫のようなコスト、重量、
量産性が重要になる用途に真空断熱を使用するに
は離点があると言わざるを得ない。
本発明は、以上の諸点を勘案し、発泡樹脂内部
に特殊な構成の粉末真空断熱部を有する複合構造
により、両者の長所を生かした比較的安価で軽量
な超低熱伝導率を有する断熱材を提供することを
目的としており、以下にその実施例について図面
を参照しつつ説明する。
第1図は本発明断熱材の一実施例の基本構成を
示すその断面図である。
第1図において、1は層状の粉末真空断熱部
で、微粉末2と、これを包む微分末容器3から構
成されていて、容器3内の微粉末間の空間は真空
に引かれている。4は発泡樹脂層、5,6は外壁
である。次にこの断熱材の各部の材質や機能等に
ついて説明する。微粉末2は粒径1μから1mm程
度の粉末の混合物で、その混合比や粉末の形状に
特に制限はない。また、材質は有機・無機を問わ
ないが、熱伝導率が低く軽量であることが要求さ
れる。例えば、無機物質やプラスチツクの中空球
殻体などは適格であり、具体的には発泡パーライ
ト粉末などが望ましく適格である。微粉末収納容
器3はプラスチツクスまたはプラスチツクスと金
属の複合材を用いる。またこの容器は板状ではな
く変形可能なフイルム状のものが望ましい。その
理由は、板状のプラスチツクスの容器では真空に
対して強度を保障できないからである。その点、
フイルム状のプラスチツクスの容器を使用すると
容器内部が真空に引かれたとき、微粉末の形状に
したがつて容器が微粉末に密着し、かえつて強度
的な問題が解消されるのである。真空リークを防
ぐために、このプラスチツクスフイルムはその一
部に例えば金属の薄層をラミネートした複合材料
に置き換えてもよい。発泡樹脂4は例えばフレオ
ン属のような空気より熱伝導率の低い気体を独立
気泡中に含んだ発泡体で、発泡ポリウレタンは適
格である。発泡樹脂4がフレオン属のような空気
分子にくらべて大きな分子で発泡されているとい
うことは、粉末真空断熱層容器3の真空リークを
防ぐ一助となつつている。というのは、粉末真空
断熱部1を構成する容器3は空気ではなくフレオ
ンガスに取り囲まれたような構成となつているた
め、真空リークをひき起こす相手は前記ガスであ
り、その分子径は空気の分子径より大きいので、
容器3の気体透過率は空気にくらべてはるかに小
さくなるからである。これが容器3がプラスチツ
クスフイルムでも真空を保てる理由である。5,
6の外壁の材質は金属でもプラスチツクスでもよ
く、その使用目的に応じて選べばよく特に制限は
ない。例えば、電気冷蔵庫では強度の観点から外
壁は金属、庫内壁は量産性とコストの関係からプ
ラスチツクスを採用している。第1図の例では、
粉末真空断熱部1を層状にして一層だけ発泡樹脂
層4内に設けたごとくに描いているが、粉末真空
断熱部1が発泡樹脂層4内に埋めこまれている構
成でさえあればよく、粉末真空断熱部1の数や形
状さらには大きさ等に特に制限がないのはもちろ
んである。
次に実施例の具体例について述べる。塩化ベニ
ル製の袋状容器に真空断熱用パーライト粉末(三
井金属製)を充填し、10-2〜10-1Torr程度の真空
に引いて封じ厚さ約1cmの粉末真空断熱層1を作
つた。この粉末真後断熱層1の見掛けの熱伝導率
はおよそ0.004Kcal/mh℃であつた。次に、2枚
の肉厚1mmのプラスチツクス板を外壁としその間
隔が5cmと3cmである容器を用意した。この容器
の2枚の外壁の中間に前記断熱層1を固定し、ボ
リウレタンを発泡させつつ断熱層の表面に密着し
て取り囲むように発泡ポリウレタン層を形成させ
た。発泡には、トリクロロ・モノフルオロメタン
を含む気体およびトリクロロ・モノフルオロメタ
ンとジクロール・ジフルオロメタンの混合物を含
む気体の二種の気体を使つたがいずれも好適であ
つた。発泡ポリウレタンのみの熱伝導率はおよそ
0.015Kcal/mh℃であつた。でき上つた断熱材の
熱伝導率は、厚さ5cmのもの(内1cmは粉末真空
断熱層)で約0.01Kcal/mh℃、厚さ3cmのもの
(内1cmは粉末真空断熱層)で、約0.008Kcal/mh
℃であつた。第2図は、たて軸に熱伝導率λを、
横軸に上記断熱材の全体の厚さDに対する粉末真
空断熱層dの比(×=d/D)をプロツトしたも
ので、〇印は前記具体例、実線は計算値を示して
いる。この図から、粉末真空断熱層を発泡樹脂内
に設けた効果が顕著であることが認められる。
このように、本発明は粉末真空断熱部をフイル
ム状のプラスチツクスまたはフイルム状のプラス
チツクスと金属の複合体のいずれかを素材とした
微粉末収納容器と、この容器内に充填された微粉
末とにより構成しているので、容器内部を真空に
引いたとき微粉末の形状にしたがつて容器が微粉
末に密着し、強度的な問題を解決できるととも
に、粉末真空断熱部を発泡樹脂層内部に設けてい
るために微粉末収納容器の真空リークを防ぐこと
ができ熱伝導率を従来より極めて低下させること
ができる。

Claims (1)

  1. 【特許請求の範囲】 1 発泡樹脂層内部に1個以上の粉末真空断熱部
    を設け、この粉末真空断熱部をフイルム状のプラ
    スチツクスまたはフイルム状のプラスチツクスと
    金属の複合体のいずれかを素材とした微粉末収納
    容器と、この微粉末収納容器内に充填された微粉
    末とにより構成した断熱材。 2 粉末真空断熱部が層状の状態を成している特
    許請求の範囲第1項記載の断熱材。 3 粉末真空断熱部に使用されている微粉末が無
    機物質またはプラスチツクスのいずれかの中空球
    殻体である特許請求の範囲第1項または第2項記
    載の断熱材。 4 発泡樹脂はフレオン層の1種以上のガスを含
    む気体で発泡させた発泡ポリウレタンである特許
    請求の範囲第1項または第2項記載の断熱材。 5 発泡樹脂はトリクロロ・モノフルオロメタン
    を含む気体またはトリクロロ・モノフルオロメタ
    ンとジクロール・ジフルオロメタンの混合物を含
    む気体のいずれかで発泡させた特許請求の範囲第
    1項記載の断熱材。
