Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 産業上の利用分野 本発明は1例えば自動車車体側面に車体保護を兼ねて装
着される装飾モールの製造方法に関する。
従来技術 近時、自動車の側面には第1図に示すように外部衝撃に
対する車体保護を兼ねた装飾モール(1)が取りつけら
れることが多い。第2図は、その具体例を示し、ゴム材
料、熱可塑性樹脂等高分子材料よりなるモール本体(2
)と、モール本体(2)表面に固定されたアルミ、ステ
ンレス等の金属箔(3)よりなる。従来かかる構造の装
飾e−ル(1)の製造は、金属箔(3)をインサートし
て押出成形することにより行われ、押出成形機から押し
出された直後に、シボを形成した圧延I」−ラ等により
表面を押圧することによりモール本体(2)表面に梨地
表面処理がなされる。このような押出成形により形成さ
れた帯状の装飾モール(1)は、車体取付部位の長さに
応じ一ζ切断される。第2図(A)において、 (4)
は切11Ji部を示し、この切断部(4)には、第2図
(13)に示す如く、ゴム、熱可塑性樹脂等のアウトサ
ート成形により端部(5)が接続される。
かかる構造の装飾モール(1)にあっては、モール本体
(2)の押出成形工程及びEf?1i(5)の゛rウド
シート成形玉程の2工程が必要であること、モール本体
(2)の梨地模様と端部(5)の表面とが異なる模様と
なること(仮に端部(5)を別途梨地表面処理したとし
Cも1両者別工程で行われるため両者の模様は不揃いと
なることが多い)、モール本体(2)と端部(5)の接
合部に痕跡が現れ美観を損なうこと、モール本体(2)
と端!’j1((5)を接合するものであるから寸法誤
差が生じ易いこと、さらに深い凹凸模様の梨地表面が得
られ難いこと等積々の問題点がある。
これらの欠点は、射出成形を利)1目′ることにより一
応解決される。即ち、モール形状の中空体を形成した金
型にゴム或いは熱可塑性4δ1脂を射出すれば、一定形
状の端部を有するモール本体が成形でき、前述のような
端部と本体との間に粗目が残ることはない。また、その
寸法は金型によって決まるから、その精度は格段に向]
−する。さらに金型表面に凹凸パターン形成しておけば
、所望形状の梨地表面を得ることができる。
然しなから、このような射出成形方法を利用したとして
も、金属箔を一体成形けんとした場合には1次のような
新たな問題が発生ずる。即ら、射出成形機に固定した金
具内に金属箔を取りつける作業を人手で補うため、事故
の危険性が増大Jること、及びモール本体、金属箔とも
に細長い形状でありその寸法もm単位であるから金型内
への配置作業、その位置決め等簡単に行うことはてきず
、多大の時間及び労力を要することとなり3作業性、生
産性に劣るという欠点がある。
発明の目的 本発明は、射出成形方法にて成形されたモール本体に金
属箔を取りつけ、装飾モールを完成する新規な製造方法
を提供するものである。
発明の構成 本発明に係る装飾モールの製造方法は、熱可塑性樹脂若
しくは熱可塑性エラストマーを射出成形により所定の形
状に成形し、モール本体を形成する工程、上記モール本
体の表面適所に別途用、aされた所定形状を有する磁性
体よりなる金属211を押圧する工程、該金属箔がモー
ル本体に押圧された状態て上記金属箔に近接配置された
交番電流発生手段より発生ずる交番磁界を印加し、上記
金属箔を誘導加熱する工程を少なくとも含む。
実施例 第3図(A)(B)は1本発明製造方法により製造され
た装飾モール(1)を示し、 (2)はモール本体で熱
可塑性樹脂例えばナイロン、ポリエステル、塩化ビニル
、ポリプロピレン、ポリエチレン、ウレタン等、若しく
は、熱可塑性エラスボン社製)等が射出成形方法により
形成される。
(3)はこのモール本体(2)に固定された略コ字型の
金属箔で光沢を持つ。この金属箔(3)は磁性体である
必要があり2例えばステンレス(SUS 430)が使
用できる。
第4図(A) (B、)は、N造二[行途中における状
態を示し、 (6)は、非磁性体よりなる基体で、モー
ル本体(2)がその表面に載置される。(7)は、約1
0 K’llzの高周波交番電流が通電される!r4よ
りなる導電線である。金属fii (3) 1.1. 
、モール本体(2)に設けられた溝(8) (8)に係
合する状態で配置され、かつこの金属箔(3)の端部直
下に導電線(7)が位置する如くモール本体(2)の位
置が決定される。(9)は、金属箔(3)を図中上方か
ら抑圧するプレス部材である。同図(B)に示す如く、
プレス部材(9)によって金属箔(3)をモール本体(
2)に圧接し。
かつこの状態で導電線(7)に交番電流を流すと、導電
線(7)周囲に同一の周波数の交番磁界1うが発生ずる
。この磁界Bが金属箔(3)に加わることにより金属箔
(3)に多数の渦電流が発生し7、この電流によりジュ
ール熱が発生して金属箔(3)は、加熱される。この金
属箔(3)の加熱によりこれに接触しているモール本体
(2)部分か(図中点状部分Pにて示す)軟化さらには
溶融して半流動状態となり金属箔(3)に密着する。か
くして金属箔(3)は、モール本体(2)に接着される
。この接着に要する時間(電流通電時間)は、約10秒
程度である。
第51Jlコ、複数個のモール(1)(1)・・・ を
同時に製造する装置の例をボし、 (6)は、基台、(
10)は高周波電源である。導電線(7)は基台(6)
中に埋設されており、この」−にモール(1) (1)
 ・・・ が載置され、さらにこれらはプレス部材(図
では省略)にて押圧される。かがる方法によれば多数本
の装飾モールが同時に製造できる。
発明の効果 本発明によれば、モール本体は、熱可塑性(耐脂性しく
は熱可塑性エラストマーを材料とし射出成形方法により
形成されるから、司法精度が従来の押出方法によるもの
に比して格段に向上する。
またモール端部がモール本体と一体成形されるから継目
等美観を損ねる痕跡が節制する余地はない。さらに本発
明によれば、モール本体への金属箔の固定は、金属箔を
モール本体に押圧した状態で金属箔を誘導加熱し、これ
に接するモール本体部分を軟化或いは溶融することによ
り行われるから、射出成形方法を利用した場合に比し金
属箔の配置作業か容易であり(射出成形では、開いた金
型間での作業であり、この狭い空間でのI’l業は簡単
ではない)、かつそれに要する時間も短時間で済む。さ
らに射出成形機内の金型空間での11業に比して、安全
性が高いという利点がある。

Claims (1)

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. (1)熱可塑性樹脂若しくは熱可塑性エラストマーを射
    出成形により所定の形状に成形しモール本体を形成する
    工程、上記モール本体の表面適所に別途用意された所定
    形状を有する磁性体よりなる金属箔を抑圧する工程、該
    金属箔がモール本体に押圧された状態で上記金属箔に近
    接配置された交番電流発生手段より発生する交番磁界を
    印加し、上記金属箔を誘導加熱する工程を含み、該金属
    箔の加熱によりこれに接触するモール本体部分を軟化若
    しくは溶融せしめ上記金属箔と上記モール本体を接着さ
    ゼる装飾モールの製造方法。
