Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 本発明は、超音波ウエルダーを使用した自動車用内装材
の接合加工方法に関し、特に、表面に羽毛状部を有する
マット材とポリプロピレン等の基材とを接合する場合に
、受治具として表面に無数の突起部を有するものを用い
、これによシマット材の羽毛状部が毛倒れすることなく
接合されるようにした接合方法に関する、。
自動車用内装材、2例えば第1図に示すようなフロント
ドアーのドアートリムにあっては、その下端部分に横長
のポケット1が設けられる。すなわち、第2図の断面図
に示すように、トリム本体からポケットカバーを、いわ
ば分岐させて、ポケットが形成されるのである。
このポケット1の表装に関し、従前にあっては、他のア
ームレスト2等と同色に着色されたポケットを用いてい
た。(なお、3は衣皮材を示す。)しかしながら近時に
あっては、第3図の断面図に示すように、ポリプロピレ
ン等の無数の繊維を直毛状に毛羽立てた羽毛状部4とポ
リエチレン等の基布5から成るマット材6を表装に用い
、これによシ、カーペットに類似した独特の美観をポケ
ットに与えるとともに、フロア−のカーペットと連続し
た外観を生じさせて、車内に広々とした感覚をかもし出
そうとする試みがなされている。言い換えると、ポリプ
ロピレン等の無数の繊維による直毛状の羽毛状部4全ポ
リエチレン等の基布5に植設して成るマット材6を、ポ
ケット1の基板となるポリプロピレン等の基材7に接合
させる。
そして、羽毛状部4の有する独特の美観及びフロア−の
カーペットと共通する空間感覚にょム ドアトリム全体
としての装飾効果全高めようとするのである。
さて、このようなポケット1の表装を行なうためには、
羽毛状部4を有するマット材6をポリプロピレン等の基
材7に接合しなければならない。
そして、この接合作業に高周波ウェルダーないしは超音
波ウェルダーを使用することが考えられるが、前者の高
周波ウェルダーでは、平面状の刃を使用して溶着するた
め、必然的に毛倒れを生じてしまう。また、第4図に示
すような従来の超音波ウエルダーでは、振動増幅手段を
付設することができて容量的には問題がないものの、接
合個所の羽毛状部4が毛倒れしてしまい、著しい外観不
良を生じてしまう。すなわち、第4図において、8は超
音波ウエルダーのホーン、9は表面が平うな受治具を示
゛シ、これらのホーン8及び受治具9の間にポリプロピ
レン製の基材7及びマット材6が配設されて両者が超音
波振動による大エネルギーを以て瞬時に接合されるので
ある。
しかしながら、このような接合方法では、受治具9の表
面が平らであるため、羽毛状部4が押し倒されたままで
超音波接合がなされ、従って、接合後の仕上り状態にお
いて、羽毛状部4が毛倒れして基布5に融着されたまま
となってしまう。そのため、当該個所が一見してホーン
8の先端と同一長の溶着個所と知れて著しい外観不良と
なるのである。
本発明は、上記した問題に鑑みてなされ、進歩した接合
方法を提供するもので、その目的は、接合個所の外観に
何等の変化をきだせず、従って羽毛状部本来の美観を保
つことができるようにすること及び接合強度を十分に維
持することにある。
そしてこのために、本発明に係る超音波ウエルダーの接
合方法は、超音波ウエルダーのホーンに対向する受治具
として表面に無数の突起部を有するものを用い、この突
起部側にマット材の羽毛状部側を当て、該マット材を基
材に接合させるようにしたものである。
以下、図面を参照して、本発明の詳細な説明する。
第5図は、本発明に係る超音波ウエルダーによる接合方
法の一実施例を示す側断面図、第6図は、第5図の要部
拡大断面図であシ、8は超音波ウエルダ〜のホーン、l
Oは受治具を示す。(なお、第1図から第4図のものと
同一の部材または同一の符号を付した。) 本発明にあっては、超音波ウエルダー自体には何等従来
のものと変化はないが、超音波ウエルダーのホーン8と
対向する受治具10の表面が、従来のもののように単な
る平面ではなく、無数の突起部11を有している。この
突起部11は、多数の針状突起から成り、あたかも華道
における剣山の如き形状を成している。すなわち、従来
の受治具のように平面で羽毛状部4を押圧してホーン8
に対向するのではなく、本発明方法の突起部11は、い
わゆるビンポイントとして、羽毛状部4を何等押し倒す
ことなく、マット材6の基布5に当接する。そして、こ
のポリエチレン等の基布5をポリプロピレン等の基材7
に押し当てて超音波振動による溶着接合を行なわせるの
である。
すなわち本発明方法は、現今において超音波ウエルダー
の容量が増大したこと及び受治具10本来の機能がマッ
ト材6を基材7に密着させることにあシ、このためには
必ずしも接合個所の全面を平面的に押圧する必要はない
ことに着目してなされたものであり、接合個所の羽毛状
部4が受治具10によって押し倒されることのないよう
に、該受治具lOの入面全無数のビンポイントとしてホ
ーン8に対向させ、マット材6の基布5を基材7に溶着
固定させるようにしたものである。
これによシ、治具形状を変化させるだけで、従来の超音
波ウエルダーによる接合と同等の接合強度が得られ、し
かも、羽毛状部4が毛倒れすることが全く無いので、ど
こを接合したのかさえ外観からは判別することができす
、羽毛状部4本来の豪華な美感を保つことができ、進歩
的嗜好を有する自動車ユーザーのフィーリングにマツチ
するものである。

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 1、超音波ウエルダーにより、表面に羽毛状部を有する
    マット材とポリプロピレン等の基材とを接合する方法に
    おいて、前記超音波ウエルダーのホーンに対向する受治
    具として鉄面に無数の突起部を有するものを用い、この
    突起部側にマット材の羽毛状部側を当て、該マット材を
    基材に接合させることを特徴とする超音波ウエルダーに
    よる接合方法。
