Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 本発明は内燃機関、殊にディーゼル機関のピストンに関
し、その目的は、スキッシュの流動を活発化し、燃焼の
促進、排気ガス清浄化並び第1図及び第2図に示すよう
にピストン1の頂面2に燃焼室3と、この燃焼室3I/
c連接して吸、排気バルブの逃し凹部4.5とが設けら
れている。燃焼室、5の平面形状は図示のように必ずし
も円形とは限られないが、吸、排気バルブの逃し凹部4
.5はバルブが円形であることから、それに対応した円
形状であり、その円形状の一部を燃焼室3の周囲とラッ
プして開口8.9を形成している。従って従来のピスト
ンでは、開口8.90両側部には山形エツジ状の突起部
6.7が形成され、逃し凹部4.5と燃焼室3とは不連
続線で連接されていた。
そのため1.ピストン1の上昇による圧縮行程のスキッ
シュ並びに下降による膨張行程の逆スキッシュの流動が
前記突起部6.7に衝突し、これが抵抗体となってスキ
ッシュ・、逆スキッシュの円滑な流動の障害となり、必
ずしも効果的な燃焼を行っているとはいえなかった。
本発明は、このような従来の問題点に鑑み、スキッシュ
の円滑外流動を得べく改善したものである。
以下本発明の実施例を第3図に基いて説明する。1はピ
ストン、2はその頂面、3は燃焼室、4.5は吸、排気
バルブの逃し凹部である。    □本発明は、逃し凹
部4.5と燃焼室3とを山形エツジ状の突起部6.7に
より不連続線で連接していた本のを、この突起部、6.
7を削除り1、直線又は、円弧の一部から成る連続線1
0.11にて連接したものである。図に−おいて、この
連結線10,11はスワールの方向により破線10’、
11’の如く、反対側に形成しても良い。
従って、本発明によると、前記連続線10.11による
接線通路によってスキッシュ並びに逆スキッシュは円滑
な流動となり、空気流動が活発化する。そのため、燃焼
過程においては、燃焼室3内のスワールが良好に得られ
、燃料と空気との混合が促進し、燃焼効果を向上して機
能を高揚すると共に、排気ガスの清浄化が得られ、燃費
も低減し得る利点を有している。

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 頂面に燃焼室と、この燃焼室に連接する吸、排気バルブ
    の逃し四部とを有するピストンにおいて、前記沸し凹部
    と燃焼室との連接部を連続線で連接したことを特徴とす
    る内燃機関のピスト ン。
