Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 この発明は自動二輪車の排気管の配管構成に関するもの
で、車両の進行方向前方と後方に偏して少なくとも２個
の気筒を備え、前方気筒の排気管をそこから一旦下方へ
伸ばした後、後方へ屈曲させて車体後方へ導く形式の自
動二輪車に関する。
一般に、Ｖ型あるいは水平対何形など車両の前方と後方
に配された２個以上の気筒を備えた自動ゑ 二輪では各気筒から、車両後部に配される消音器に至る
距離が異なるため、排気管の長さが不一致となって前後
気筒の特性をバランスさせるのが必ずしも容易でない。
また、前後気筒の排気管長を等しくすべく後方の排気管
を長くしようとし、これを不用意に配管すると車体部品
を無用に熱することになりかねない不具合を生じる。
この発明は斯る不具合を除去することを目的とするもの
である。以下、図示の実施例によってこれを説明する。
実施例の自動二輪車は鋼管を溶接して組立だ車体枠１の
前方に位置して操向軸管２を持ち、その操向軸管２を介
して前輪３を左右転向自在に支持している。車体枠１は
操向軸管２から後方へ伸びる主柱４と下方へ伸びるダウ
ンチュている。
７．８はそれぞれエンジン６をボルトで車体枠１に固定
するブラケットである。
前記主柱４の下端部に設けたブラ′ケット９には後輪１
１を支持するリヤアーム１２の基端が支軸１３によって
回動自在に支持されている。車体枠１の後部はさらに後
方へ伸びるシート支持枠１４とその補強枠１５とが溶接
組立てされており、このシート支持枠１４とリヤアーム
１２との間には後輪１１の緩衝ばね１６が取シつけられ
ている。
１Ｔは車体枠１の上面に架設された燃料タンク、１８は
乗員の座席シート、１９はエンジン冷却用のラジェータ
である。
エンジン６は中央のクランク箱２１から前方へ伸びる２
個の前方気筒２２と、後方へ伸びる２個の後方気筒２３
とを持つ四気筒の水平対向形水冷エンジンであシ、各気
筒２２．２３の軸線ＣＬが前記支軸１３の上方を略水平
に通るように配しである。２４．２４はエアクリーナ２
５とエンジン６との間に介入された気化器である。
３１．３２は２個の前方気筒２２から下方へ伸た前排気
管で左右気筒のものが互いに交叉して反対側へ伸び、左
右の消音器３３．３４へ連結されている。３５．３６は
後気筒２３．２３から下方へのびる排気管であシ、下端
付近から前方へ屈曲し前気筒２２の下方で車体中心方向
へ折り曲げられ、他側で再び後方へ屈曲して同側の排気
管毎に集合管３７．３８によって集合され、それぞれ消
音器３３．３４へ連結されている。３９は左右の排気管
群の間に配置された発電機、４１はオイルパンで共に排
気管により地上の障害物から守られている。
なお、以上の実施例では水平対向形のエンジンについて
説明したが、この発明は必ずしもこれに限るものではな
くｖ形装置のエンジンにも利用できる。また、二気筒エ
ンジンにも応用出来ることはもちろんであり、さらに左
右の排気管を交叉させることも必須ではない。
この発明は以上のように後方気筒の排気管をその下面か
ら一旦前方へ導き前方気筒下面で折り返した後、前方気
筒の排気管と合流させたものであシ、後方気筒の排気管
は一般に排気管が配置せられるエンジン下面を利用して
いるので、車両の他の部品に対し熱による不具合を与え
ることがなく、また、車両の部品収容空間を狭めること
もない。
よって、何等不具合いを生じることなくエンジンの前後
気筒の出力を平均化させることが出来る優れた効果があ
る。
なお、実施例のように左右２個づつの排気管をそれぞれ
互いに交叉させ、あるいは交叉させるに際し前方気筒の
排気管を一旦前方へ屈曲させるときは、排気管のながさ
を十分長くしてもその結果排気消音器が車体の後方へ突
き出してしまう不具合がない。また、排気管群の間にオ
イルパンや発電機など大型かつ重量の大きい部品を配置
すれば空間が有効に利用できると共に車両の重心を低く
できる効果もある。

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 車両の進行方向前方と後方に偏して少なくとも２個の気
    筒を備え、前方気筒の排気管を気筒から一旦下方へ伸ば
    しそこから後方へ屈曲させて車体後方の消音器へと導く
    形式の自動二輪車において、後方気筒の排気管をその下
    面から一旦前方へ導き前方気筒下面で折り返した後、前
    方気筒の排気管と合流させたことを特徴とする自動二輪
    車の排気管装置。
