Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a negative or positive electrostatic image by the polarization of a dielectric layer, by using a photoreceptor consisting of the dielectric layer and a photoconductive layer. CONSTITUTION:A photosensitive drum 1' having a dielectric layer 2 and a photoconductive layer 3 is charged positively by a charger to polarize both the layers. Then, an original image, while exposing by a lamp 6, is charged negatively by a charger 5 to convert a part of the photoconductive layer 3, irradiated with intense light, into a conductor, and the dielectric layer 3 is applied with an intense electric field to inverse the polarization strongly. At last, the image is exposed uniformly to a lamp 7' to eliminate the polarization of the photoconductive layer 3. The intensity ratio between the 1st charge and 2nd one is made different to obtain a negative or positive electrostatic image.
