CONSTITUTION:Two main electrodes 2 and 3 are sealed at the end of a luminous tube 1, on the same side thereof; one end of a filament 5 and the two main electrodes 2 and 3 are connected to a lighting system through molybdenum foils 14- 16 and lead wires 8-10, and the former lighting system includes the luminous tube 1 and a transparent external tube therein. Also, the distance delta from the main electrode 3 to the filament 5 is disposed so as to be with 80% of that between the arc spots, for instance, 3mm.. Thereby, the starting of discharge can be facilitated remarkably, and the restaring time can be also shortened.
