Abstract
PURPOSE:To enhance the preservation characteristic of a nonaqueous electrolyte battery, and enhance the self discharge of the battery by restricting the percentage of sodium, which contaminates lithium used as the negative electrode, to below a given value. CONSTITUTION:A lithium battery is constituted by using metal lithium as a negative active material, and an electrolyte consisting of a solute and an organic solvent. The content of sodium contaminating the former metal lithium is restricted to below 0.05wt% of the metal lithium.
