Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent a battery from expansion, which caused by generation of gases in the battery, by adding a fluorine compound into a nonaqueous electrolyte battery containing manganese dioxide as positive electrode active material. CONSTITUTION:A fluorine compound, such as lithium fluoride, is added into a nonaqueous electrolyte battery containing active light metal such as lithium as a negative electrode active material and manganese dioxide as positive electrode active material. As to the addition method, it is preferable to add it into the positive electrode substance or the electrolyte.
