Abstract
PURPOSE:To eliminate the addition of carbon and improve the energy density of a battery by using manganese dioxide and solid carbon fluoride as a positive active material for a nonaqueous electrolyte battery a negative active material of which is light metal. CONSTITUTION:A mixture of manganese dioxide and solid carbon fluoride is used as a positive active material for a nonaqueous electrolyte battery a negative active material of which is a light metal such as Li, or Na. It is preferable to use the solid carbon fluoride X-value of which is 0.2-0.5 in the general formula (CFx)n. Thus constituted, the electrode is made conductive without addition of a conductive agent such as carbon by multiple effect, a given volume is effectively utilized as a space for electricity generating material, and the energy density is increased.
