Abstract
PURPOSE:To flatten the discharge voltage of a battery by adding a limited amount of solid carbon fluoride to heat treated manganese dioxide which serves as a positive active material of the organic solvent battery. CONSTITUTION:A positive electrode 1, separator 3 impregnated with an electrolyte, and negative electrode 2 comprising lithium are contained in a positive container 4 which serves also as a positive terminal. The container 4 is sealed with a negative cap 6 which serves also as a negative terminal spaced with an insulating packing 5, and button type organic solvent battery is formed. The positive active material for the positive electrode is prepared by adding solid carbon fluoride [(CFx)n] to manganese dioxide heat treated at 400 deg.C in an amount 25wt% or less, for example 15wt%. A binder such as styrene butadiene rubber and conducting material are added to the active material and it is pelleted to form a positive electrode.
