Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the water proofness and anti-leakage property of a battery by providing a packing of the sealing protion with asphalt as a sealant. CONSTITUTION:A positive active material 4 consisting principally of, for example, manganese dioxide is enclosed in a battery can 6 and a separator 5 soaked with a nonaqueous electrolyte is provided on said active material 4. Lithium 2 or the like as a negative active material is provided with a negative electrode cover 1 including a negative electrode current collector 3. An insulation sealing packing 7 is interposed between the battery can 6 and cover 1, whereby hermetically sealing the can 6 to form a battery.
