Abstract
PURPOSE:To raise the resistance to liquid leakage of a battery by using a gasket which is made of a nylon-12 whose percentage of moisture content is adjusted to be below a specified value, for sealing the battery. CONSTITUTION:A positive mixture 2 made of argentous oxide (silver oxide) or the like and a part of the alkaline electrolyte of a battery are packed into a positive- electrode can 1, and a separator 3 is placed on the mixture 2. A negative collector 5 is filled with a negative agent 4 which is made of a zinc powder and the alkaline electrolyte. Next, the negative collector 5 with a negative agent 4 packed in that is placed in the opening part of the positive-electrode can 1. At the same time, an annular gasket 6 is interposed between the can 1 and the collector 5, and the whole constitutes a hermetically sealed button-type battery. The gasket 6 of such a battery is made of a nylon-12, and the percentage of water content of that is adjusted to be below 0.3%.
