Abstract
PURPOSE:To increase the amount of active materials packed in a battery, and increase the liquid-leakage resistance of the battery by making a gasket having a hook- like corss section to be held between a metal can and a metal lid with a flat part. CONSTITUTION:An anode active material 12 principally containing silver oxide is packed into an anode metal lid 11 with a flat part 11'. A cathode active material 14 principally containing gel-like zinc is placed on the center of a cathode metal can 15, before the material 14 is covered with a separator 13. The anode metal 11 is placed on the separator 13, and a gasket 16 is fixed over the peripheries of the flat part 11' and the separator 13. An end 15' of the metal can 15 is curved into a -form so as to make the lid 11, the separator 13 to be fixed into the gasket 16 with a hook- like cross section, resulting in constitution of a button-type battery. A concave part is preferred to be provided on the -form opening end of the metal can 15.
