Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a small lithium-iodine complex battery with an enhanced dependability, by inserting both lithium as a negative active material and an iodine complex as a positive active material into a tube made of a thermo-fusing resin to make them closely be in contact with each other, and making the tube to be fused at the same time when a lead is taken out of the end of the tube to hermetically seal the battery. CONSTITUTION:The end of a negative lead wire 2 is pressed into a metal negative- electrode 1 made of lithium, while a positive mixture 3 made of an iodine complex is inserted into a thermo-fusing tube 4 which has resistance to fluorine. Next, the former lithium negative electrode 1 with the lead wire 2 is inserted into the space inside the positive mixture 3, and the entire tube is rolled to become flat. At the same time, the leading part of the negative electrode and the end of the tube 4 are fused to hermetically seal the battery. The former thermo-fusing resin is preferred to be a fluorine resin such as a ethylenetetrafluoride-propylenehexafluoride copolymer, a poly-ethylenechlorinetrifluoride, a ethylenetetrafluoride-ethylene copolymer, a polyfluoroalkoxylate or a polyfluorovinylidene.
