Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain an sealed type lead storage battery with an average distribution of its electrolyte and excellent charateristic of liquid leak-proof, by allowing the electrolyte of high concentration to be restrictedly held in a separator, made of glass fiber with a compressed insertion into between positive and negative plates, and the positive negative plates. CONSTITUTION:A separator, made of glass fiber with its mean diameter not more than 3.5mu, is inserted into between positive and negative plates in a state of compression at not less than 20kg/dm<2>. For said positive and negative lattice plates a lead-calcium-tin alloy is used, and the electrolyte consisting of dilute sulfuric acid of specific gravity 1.30-1.35 is limited its capacity to not more than 1.2ml per lg of positive electrode active material, impregnated and held to the positive negative plates and the separator consisting of the above described glass fiber.
