Abstract
PURPOSE:To enhance the liquid leakage resistance of an alkaline battery by using epoxy adduct polyamide amine as a sealing agent which is provided between the sealing plate and the gasket. CONSTITUTION:A positive active material 2 principally consisting of silver oxide or the like, a separator 3 and an electrolyte holding body 4 are inserted in a positive case 1, in that order. A sealing plate 5 is packed with a negative active material 6 made of zinc powder or the like. After that, the sealing plate 5 is fitted on the opening of the case 1, with an insulating gasket 7 interposed between the plate 5 and the case 1, to hermetically seal the battery, thereby constituting a button-type battery. Here, a sealing agent 8 is provided between the sealing plate 5 and the gasket 7. As the sealing agent 8, epoxy adduct polyamide amine is used.
