Abstract

PURPOSE:To increase the liquid-leakage resistance of a button-type alkaline battery by unifying a sealing gasket and the opening periphery of a dish-like case through thermal fusion. CONSTITUTION:A battery case 3 consists of a dish-like case member 1 which is made of metal and also serves as a negative terminal, a dish-like case member 2 which is made of metal and also serves as a positive terminal, and an annular sealing gasket 7 which is interposed between the member 1 and 2. A sealed button-type battery is constituted by placing in the case 3 a generation element containing alkaline electrolyte. Here, an opening periphery 1a of the member 1 also serving a negative terminal and the sealing gasket 7 are mechanically unified by making them to adhere 8 to one another through the thermal fusion of the gasket 7. As the gasket 7, ''Nylon 66 '' is preferred.
