Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the antileakage property of a flattened battery, by using as a current collector for a positive electrode stainless steel whose surface has been oxidized so as to increase its adhesion with an outer casing film. CONSTITUTION:With a separator 1 interposed, there are provided in a face-to-face relation a sheetlike positive electrode compound 2 principally made of manganese dioxide and a zinc sheet 3 as an active material for negative electrode. They are then enclosed by two outer casing films 7, 8 with a current collector 4 for the positive electrode and a terminal plate 6 for the negative electrode respectively interposed therebetween. A perpheral portions 9 are hermetically bonded together with a heat-sensitive adhesive 10, thereby forming a flattened battery. The current collector 4 for the positive electrode is provided with an exposed surface 5 at a location corresponding to a terminal opening formed through the outer casing film 7. The exposed surface 5 is used for taking electricity outside. As the current collector 4 of such a battery, there is employed stainless steel whose surface is oxidized.
