Abstract
PURPOSE:To enhance the liquid-leakage resistance of a button-type alkaline battery by providing a ring-like gasket between the negative can and a gasket, which insulates and seals the negative and the positive cans. CONSTITUTION:After a positive active material 7 is packed into a positive can 3 made of nickel or the like, a separator 6 and an electrolyte holding material 5 are placed over the material 7. Next, a negative active material 4 packed into a negative can 1, which consists of an inner copper layer and an outer stainless steel layer or the like, is placed over the material 5. At the same time, a first insulating sealing gasket 2 made of nylon 66 or the like is interposed between the positive can 3 and the negative can 1, and a second right-like insulating sealing gasket 8 is provided between the gasket 2 and the negative can 1. After that, the battery is sealed by bending the positive can 3 inwardly. As a result, the liquid-leakage resistance of the battery can be greatly enhanced by securing sealing of the turning part of the can 1 by means of the gasket 8.
