CONSTITUTION:A metal lithium negative electrode 1, and positive compound 2 the main component of which is iodine are combined with a sealing plate 3 which serves also as a negative collector, battery case 4 which serves also as a positive collector, and packing 5 to form a battery, just after the fabrication, the battery is stored in an atmosphere the temperature of which is up to 30 deg.C until the self-discharge attaines to 3mAh or more per cm<2> area of the lithium negative electrode 1.
