Abstract

A manganese or chromium doped positive plate for a lead acid battery and a method of manufacturing the plate is disclosed together with a lead acid battery containing manganese or chromium in the electrolyte. The doped positive plate has increased cycle life hardness and resistance to shedding of the active material.
