PURPOSE:To lengthen the life of cell as well as reduce the weight of cell by the procedure in which an active substance is filled in an acid-resistant synthetic resin frame molded the size of a current collector and then the frame body and a desired shape of a current collector are pressed integrally to one body. CONSTITUTION:An active substance is filled in the frame body 5 of an acid-resistant synthetic resin, e.g., polyprolyene, polystyrene, etc., molded to any size of a lead storage battery, and then any shape of the current collector 3 is pressed with the frame body 5 to one body and dried to form an electrode plate. Because the electrode plate uses a lead alloy only for the current collector, the amount of lead used can be reduced and the weight of the cell can therefore be reduced, and also because the electrode plate is surrounded with the synthetic resin and short-circuit at sides and bottom can therefore be prevented, the life of cell can be lengthened.
