Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance the energy saving effect in the titled galvanizing method by introducing a hot strip into a galvanizing bath to utilize the sensible heat to melt zinc and by further transferring heat of the bath to a fluid in ducts to effectively utilize the heat. CONSTITUTION:A strip 31 is introduced into the body 1 of a vessel holding a galvanizing bath at about 600 deg.C without cooling in a final cooling zone 32 in front of the body 1. Heat of the strip 31 is supplied to molten zinc, and the strip 31 is shifted to the next process through a sunk roll 7, pressing rolls 8 and gas spray nozzles 29. During this time, the molten zinc in the body 1 is maintained in the molten state by the sensible heat of the strip 31, and air 14 fed at ordinary temp. to ducts 13 embedded in the body 1 is heated to 250-300 deg.C, pressurized, and fed to the nozzles 29 through a gas producer 19. By regulating the volume of air supplied to an air chamber 14 and the volume of air flowing through the ducts 13, the galvanizing bath is maintained at a prescribed temp.
