Abstract
PURPOSE:To recover the radiation heat from an ingot efficiently by providing sensible heat recovering devices in the passages for an ingot except water spraying zones, using pure water as a refrigerant and circulating the same between said recovering devices, guiding rollers and a pressure tank. CONSTITUTION:Sensible heat recovering devices 7 consisting of plural heat collecting pipes are provided so as to enclose an unsolidified ingot passing between the guiding rollers 5 of other zones except the roller aprons 21, 22 of water spray zones of a continuous casting device. The pure water of a pressure tank 26 is supplied as a refrigerant through headers 13, 18 by a pump 27 to the heat collecting pipes of the devices 7 and the cooling water passages of the rollers 5 of the aprons 21-28, and the pure water recovering the radiation heat from the ingot is again returned into the tank 26 where steam is allowed to generate. The pure water is replenished from a pure water tank 22 into the tank 26 through a deaerator 24. It is also possible provide a sensible heat recovering mechanism similar to those mentioned above in the parts of pinch rolls 3.
