Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide the production equipment excellent in inhibition of decarburization by providing a preheating furnace for the steel material having its surface cleaned, a device for forming a coated layer of a decarburization inhibitor, a dryer for the coated layer, a device for forming a coated layer of an antioxidant and a dryer for the latter coated layer at a preparatory zone for the steel material communicating to an inlet port of a heating furnace.
CONSTITUTION: The steel material 1 is placed on a transport roller 2, is fed into a steel material preheating furnace 4 by guide rolls 3 and the surface of the material is preheated to 70W90°C. Next, the material 1 is directed into the first coating device 5, where it is spray coated with a decarburization inhibitor such as carburizer-containing borax and water glass, is fed into the first hot-air dryer 6 to dry the decarburization inhibitor, thereby forming a coated layer of the decarburization inhibitor on the surface of the steel material 1. Further, the material 1 is fed into the second coating device 7, where it is spray coated with an antioxidant such as Al powder and chamotte powder, is introduced into the second hot-air dryer 8 to dry the oxidizing agent, thereby forming a coated layer of the oxidizing agent, and then it is transferred to a feed line for the heating furnace.
