Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain an alloy with superior weld crack resistance at high temp. by regulating the O content and cleanliness of an alloy obtd. by adding Ni, C, Si, Mn, P and S to Fe in a specified ratio and by adding Ta, Hf, Mo and W to the regulated alloy in a specified ratio.
CONSTITUTION: An Fe-Ni alloy consisting of 30W45% Ni, ≤0.04% C, 0.05W0.25% Si, 0.10W0.40% Mn, ≤0.020% P+S, and the balance Fe is regulated to ≤0.0060% O content and ≤0.05% cleanliness, and to the alloy are further added 1 or ≥2 kinds of elements selected from 0.005W0.500% Ta, 0.001W0.100% Hf, 0.10W2.00% Mo and 0.10W2.00% W. At this time, the addition of said elements combined with Zr, Ca and Mg is avoided. Thus, the weld crack resistance at high temp. is considerably improved without deteriorating the low thermal expansion as an "Invar " type alloy while maintaining other basic properties.
