Abstract
PURPOSE:To inspect an annular body automatically without requiring any manpower by rotating said body relatively with the scanning line of a one dimensional scanning camera, and checking the width and amplitude of the image pickup signal of every scanning. CONSTITUTION:The light irradiated from a light source 1 is reflected by the mouth 3 of a bottle 2 to be inspected, and heads toward an image sensor camera 4. The scanning line 5 by the camera 4 is so set as to cross the mouth 3 in its circumferential direction. The inspection of the mouth 3 by the camera 4 is accomplished at constant periods by rotating the bottle 2 in the direction of an arrow and sampling the scanning by the scanning line 5 at times sufficient for detecting the cracking and chipping of the mouth. If there are no cracking and chipping in the mouth 3, reflected light is obtained from the part corresponding to the thickness of the mouth 3 out of the length of the scanning line 5, and even if the bottle 2 is rotated one turn, the width and output amplitude of the image pickup signal of every scanning are constant. If, however, there is a crack or chip 7 in the mouth 3, the width and amplitude of the signal change and the values thereof are compared with reference values, and are checked in an electronic circuit part 6.
