Abstract

PURPOSE:To make it possible to inspect bottles under no influence of curvatures of a bottle and embossed characters, cy uniformly lighting a fixed region of the bottle by a lighting fixture and then by detecting defects making use of light re- reflected by a white diffused-reflection body inserted into the bottle. CONSTITUTION:Lighting lamp 202 irradiates a fixed region of inspected bottle 203 with light uniformly and when the bottle has no defect, it strikes white diffused- reflection stick 204 after penetrating the bottle and is uniformly diffused before striking optical sensor 203. The above-mentioned light is diffused by a defect part of the bottle, if existing, and never penetrates the bottle, so that no reflected light will arrive at optical sensor 203. As a result, the contrast of the defect part of the bottle is made sufficiently with a normal part and it is picture-taken by the optical sensor and extracted. Therefore, bottles can be inspected without being influenced by curvature of the bottles and embossed characters.
