Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain inspection results of high reliability by comparing values which pass a threshold value among the pulses of video signals of scatered light included in reflected light from inspected objects with a reference value. CONSTITUTION:Inspected objects, beer bottles 1, 1..., are mounted on conveyers 2, 2... and conveyed horizontally. A light source 3 and a camera 4 are so arranged to form an include angle theta of about 60 deg. at the longitudinal axis of a bottle 1 at an inspected position. The bottle 1 is given rotation in the arrow mark direction at the inspected position and turns once in a short time. Light caught by an image sensor camera 4 during this rotation is converted into pulses in the camera, and only the number of pulses passing a set value is taken out. This number of pulses is integrated by a calculator 5, and at the same time, a bottle 1, the integrated value of which passes a reference value is rejected by a rejecting device. The number and strength of the pulses can be observed as wave forms 7 on a synchroscope 6.
