Abstract
PURPOSE:To inspect accurately the existence and the degree of defects of a bottle, etc. by transferring while rotating materials to be inspected to focus an optical image and converting said image into a video signal and by comparing it with a previously stored standard signal to perform arithmetic. CONSTITUTION:A bottle 1 is transferred while rotating by a transfer device 2 to focus an optical image on a photoelectric converting element 13 by a lamp 11. A signal ES issued from this element 13 is amplified and is shaped to form image signals VSB and VSA. And the end of the bottle is detected at 31 by the VSB to decide the range of inspection at 32. The first one line in the inspecting range of the VSA is stored at 3 as a reference signal RS, and the VSA and the RS are compared and subjected to arithmetic processing to descriminate the exsistence and the degree of defects in the bottle at 4. If some defects exist in the bottle, this bottle is removed from the line by an eliminating device 5.
