Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the efficiency of the lens inspection by comparing the optical characteristic of a lens to be inspected with that of a reference lens by means of a digitized signal and by checking the numeric signal to inspect the lens.
CONSTITUTION: Diffused light ray from the slit 5 is made a parallel ray in the axial direction by the collimator lens 6 and is applied to the lens 7 to be inspected. The light ray from the lens 7 is made a parallel ray in the axial direction again by the auxiliary lens 8, and a slit image is formed on the face of the image pickup tube of the ITV camera 13 through the image forming lens 9 and objective 11. Next the distribution of the intensity of illumination of the image signal of the ITV camera 13 is taken as a time series signal by a time of scanning the scanning line of the scanning signal of the ITV camera, respective physical quantities are measured as digital signals to evaluate the lens to be inspected.
